    Hi,

I am selling my one year old immaculate Marantz AV7005. it is in perfect working and cosmetic condition, fully boxed all accessories (remote has not even been used) - it has been faultless and sounds great!

    Details:
The 7.2 channel Marantz AV7005 AV preamplifier gives you superb audio quality because all audio signals are treated with delicate care via the Marantz-own HDAM modules before being passed to the XLR outputs and the separate power amp. In addition, all audio signals enter the DSP in a variety of ways to ensure that all channels are kept completely separate, thus eliminating interfering 'channel crosstalk'. For example, you can route the audio signal via the network jack for streaming music from your PC or Internet radio. Alternatively, you can route it via one of the six HDMI1.4a inputs, one of which is hidden behind the front flap for easy access. Here you can also find the iPod-digital-compatible USB input and a second double line display, which complements the famous elegant circular display with more detailed information.
The Marantz AV 7005 AV preamp also takes supreme care of 3D video signals, even in stand-by mode, and sends them to the two HDMI1.4a output sockets. The Marantz AV7005 pre amp even includes a Phono MM input - ideal for those precious vinyls. The Marantz AV7005 supports all the latest sound formats including Audyssey DSX by using the Sharc 32Bit signal processor from Analogue Devices, also for handling the MultEQ XT auto calibration. It's all there, just waiting to perform.

Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD, Audyssey DSX
Network streaming for audio and photo
    Internet radio
Current Feedback circuitry with Marantz HDAM
    6in / 2out HDMI 1.4a (3D)
    Video scaling up to 1080p
    iPod/iPhone compatible USB input
    Phono MM amplifier
    M-DAX2
    GUI
    Multi room/Multi source

Thanks for the interest, but unfortunately that is too low, I believe the amp is worth what I am asking, it is in great condition and one of the best out there, before you get to silly money..

    Cheers

It would be interesting to know if they actually have any stock though...

I feel given the as new condition of my amp and that it is still a few hundred pounds off, even that crazy price, I will hold out for better offers.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I could be interested in this, but am somewhat of a heathen with things like this. I believe it is part of a pre-amp/processor setup? If so what would it pair with etc?

I have a budget of 2/2.5k for a replacement for my HDMI 1.3 amp and am struggling massively to find the right solution.

Any suggestions as to what this could go with and whether it is suitable would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Ben

Unfortunately I have already sold my MM8003, which if you can find one is absolutely brilliant. As mentioned the MM7055 is a newer version and the pair are tremendous. As they are so good they do not turn up 2nd hand very often..

    Cheers

Unfortunate owner of the MM8003 here :D

Well, this is all rather tempting of course, although I am curious how the AV7005 and Arcam AV8 compare performance wise (esp. in stereo) I believe you also had an AV8 in the past. Can you say anything about that?

Hi again Mark, I hope you meant 'fortunate' owner of said MM8003 :D

I never had the AV8 together with MM8003, I think Nick (Welynick(?)) may have?

Marantz have always concentrated on 2Ch and I think the AV7005 is no exception, for a processor which is not silly money, it is IMO very good for straight music..

    Cheers

Yes, the grin means that I'm actually very happy with it. It's a wonderful amp.

Right, thanks for the info. Will have to have a good think about it.

    Hi,

Can I ask why you are selling this and the MM8003?

    Thanks

I sold the MM8003 awhile ago to fund the Bryston power amps, and I have now got the Bryston SP3 processor so no longer need the AV7005 :smashin:

Hi Alpha. Regarding a conversation over on the 8200ap thread, can you tell me if the Av7005 is fully balanced? I'm looking to feed a Bryston 9B ST.

Only the output is balanced. I fed my Bryston amps using the balanced connections with great success, from this pre-amp.

I get to Oxfordshire sometimes if that helps? I'm interested but would prefer to deal face to face and to collect to save risking post.

I agree, hand-over is much better. Where abouts in Oxfordshire do you go (PM me the location if you do not want it known on here, I do not think that would be against rules?), I am sure we should be able to sort out a convienient location.

    Cheers
