Xbox 360, Sky and a pc that has vga/dvi output.

How much would a hdmi video card set me back. Will the picture distance be great?

When I connected my manta to my pc with either vga or dvi, the tv wouldn't let me select 3d mode. However now that I am using the hdmi output of my computer, 3d mode works just fine. This is useful if you plan to watch any 3d movies or games on your pc.

A new card will set you back £2x.00
For a used one, it costs peanuts.

Apart from better picture, you get sound without connecting another audio cable.

If your card has a dvi then you can use a dvi to hdmi converter which are a few pound.
I use a dvi to hdmi cable ;)

When you tried dvi did you use a dvi to vga converter?

Thanks Only777 , that's the info i needed, a cheap buidget set that has left/right eye swap.
Makes me laugh that phiilips overpriced budget 7606 3d range has no eye correction!

In case people don't know, Dabs.com are currently selling the Manta 32" 3D set at £279.98, a very tempting price. was gonna get one for me nan, but no Freeview HD was the deciding factor unfortunately :(

At one point Marks and Spencers were selling the very similar Cello 32" 3D model at £249 delivered with a 5 year guarantee plus quidco. So the dabs offer isn't close to that value. Not knocking it but there have been better prices. I think you can get the 32" cello delivered from makro for £264.

    :confused::facepalm:
Any members know of any sites to buy cheaper than on the Amazon, please post..either Manta or Cello, need to buy ASAP.
Also was wondering, has any buyer mounted this TV on the wall? Is wall mounting 3D tv's advisable?
an utter novice..so please be kind:lease:

Passive Tv's really need to be mounted centre of the screen at eye level, if you do mount it higher up on a wall it will need to be tilted down which could limit the viewing angle/area for other users sittting elsewhere in the room.

Cello is currently £299 at Marks and Spencers with a 5 year guarantee. Definitely worth the extra bit of cash for the extended warranty. If the panel fails in 4 years you may get a replacement tv out of it.

These are budget sets and the extended warranty is much more worthwhile getting.

Thank you Ari33, I guess I will need to buy a stand, it makes sense.
Cello@299 is the 32", not the 42" 3D like the Manta, am holding on to a further price drop & will grab it if it touches 300, that should cover my stand costs too.

Any suggestions for a decent low stand for the 3D tv?
Also, am thinking of buying the Sony Blu Ray player,,

    Mike7, No..sorry for the confusion.
I meant to say that when the price drops to 300, I will buy the 50£ stand with it.
Any advice on the combination of a Blu Ray with the Manta?

The LG 3D sets have the same issue, they wont play MKV audio files. I just convert mine to AC3 audio format and it works fine, I assume the Manta will be similar..
