I'm on the lookout for a decent 40" LCD/LED for around £450 which would:

    - be good for the PS3
    - be good for watching the F1 on Sky HD
    - have more than 2 HDMI sockets
    - have an awesome picture

I'm not fussed about Freeview (won't use it) and not that bothered about SmartTV (have the PS3 for that)

I've had a quick look around and since I know nothing about TV's I thought I would ask you guys.

Two I've seen which look interesting are the Samsung UE40D5520 and the LG 42LV450U.

So question is, what you would have, would it be one of these two, or something else that I've not mentioned? All help welcome, as I'm a complete n00b when it comes to this stuff.

    Thanks.

Of the 2 the Samsung is the better value and performing set.

I would throw the Sharp LC40LE831E into the list of your viewing at £500 it is well worth a look. It does afford decent 3D viewing at no real premium to non 3D sets.
