Thats just darn cheating......!
Personally I would have cropped or removed the front of the boat from the picture, just a little distracting.
Never the less its still a nice shot.
Thanks, I had many shots without the front of the ship in so with thought it'd add something to it with having something in the foreground, like in a typical landscape shot.
I must have took over 200+ photos of the Aurora Borealis over 2 nights.
The moving ship wasn't ideal for long exposure (10-20secs) shots, but was the best way to see it live, away from artificial lights, a warm cabin when it got too cold and able to experience it with a few hundred people.
It's a great shot but I do have to say that (not having sen the Northern Lights myself) it doesn't make me think of stopped motion...
Yeah, I thought that might be the problem. Having seen them multiple times, myself, I can see how this would be stopped motion. But I can also understand if someone doesn't see it
Cracker of a shot, though Nice shapes!
p.s. they DO move, constantly, like a silk curtains in the wind.
Not sure if was the best one, found it difficult to choose for the comp.
Yes, 'dancing curtains' is how they are often described. Impossible to capture on my camcorder.
exif states this was taken in January and as such isn't valid for entry!
All pictures MUST be taken in the month of February!
Sorry, didn't know that, first time entry. I should have read the rules more thoroughly
Nice shot, but doesn't say "stopped motion" to me. Shame it's invalid though, it's always nice to get a lot of varied entries in.
I think I missed the 'stopped motion' subject along the way in my haste.
It was my first entry. I'l pay more attention next time
No worries Kev - live and learn - still time to get a valid entry in
