Thank you, danb123!
The Sony Pearl will do for a long time, I'm really pleased with it.
I got it. My beautiful wife gave it to me for valentines day.
Beautiful stuff as always sir.
Great! Great wife!
Well, thank you very much, Bizness.
Latest: The new recliners are arriving in a week or two!
Gotta love this level of detail and taste. The barcelona chair is the cherry on top of the cake. I have two of those, and i must say everything wears and tears, but these chairs always fit no matter what the current trend is.
Thank you, rustyman. We agree on the Barcelona.
So I bought 4 new subwoofers. 4 x 18" Beyma 18G50 in 4 x 350 liters boxes. 850x680x740 mm(WxHxD). Tuned to 17 Hz but measures flat to 14 Hz. I think they can produce 97 dB on one watt. Well, I think this will be fun.
You'll awaken the dead with those things. Lol.
Well, we DO have a 1000 years old viking-tomb in our garden, so that could be quite a party.
This is what the new subwoofers look like:
Note that this is NOT my cinema, it's only a photo of the subwoofers. I will of course find a solution to nicely integrate them in the room, regardless of the size.
How big is your room?
Wow! Now that is a lot of bass. That is going to sound amazing. It also reminded me of Marty McFly at the beginning of Back to the Future where he gets thrown back by the huge speaker. That is a great setup you have.
love the externals, and the great room, really wish i'd have moved to norway when i was going to 10 years ago.
it would still be on the cards if i didnt have a family here
Hope you own a share in Calvin Klein for spare underwear Werdenskrieg
That will sound immense
3.60 m x 4.00 m x 2.40 m(W x D x H), just a tad larger than the room these subwoofers were designed for.
Thank you for your very kind words, bazman3791.
Not a lot of bass, just very controlled, dry and clean bass that can play extremely loud down to 14 Hz.
Wow, fascinating. I lived 5 years outside of Norway and after 2 years I'm still thrilled that we now are back here. Norway may be behind on roads and stuff, but WAY in front when it comes to healthcare etc. It's a very good country to live in.
The stories go and the stories tell
A new neighbor with a home theater from hell
He sure ain't holding no underwear shares, but damn there's a whole lot of bass in his lair.
As long as your happy
Hmm, that was my red wine talking.
Another pic of the subs. Again; this is NOT my setup, but it displays the size.
And that is a 92" screen.
Passive or active? If passive, what are you powering them with and if active, what wattage amp is driving them? In fact, what amp are you driving them with period? Must need some serious dedicated power?!
Holy 6 foot woofer Batman! I hope you never play the 'brown note' through them by accident!
Passive. I think they have a sensitivity of 97dB, so they are quite easy to drive.
I'll use two XTZ Sub Amp (300 Watt each) and that should be more than enough in my room. If not, Ill buy a powerful Crown or something.
Firstly just to say wow even my wife is like now that is how a home is supposed to look like. Now on to business the beyma subs are obviously diy my questions are,
1. Do you connect them straight to binding post + - then to the xtz sub amp out and to either a eg: mono block emotive coupled with onkyo pr-sc5509.
2. What in room speakers are being used in the pics you posted thy look like tang band and which are you thinking of using and would they not be drowned by the subs.
3. To get it to 14hz is that jus by using the measurements you posted and have you heard them in action yet if yes how do they perform.
4. Last info required if I may ask how much did you pay for them and where can I get the specs for the enclosures to see how they build inc the inside and ports on the side and how could you make look better to get the spousal acceptance factor
Please forgive all the questions still new to this game. Once again lovely home and can't wait to see home theatre
Those subs are insane.
Hurry up and get some more pictures up!
Nice to hear, thank you!
With a regular signal cable from sub out on my processor(Marantz AV8003), to line in on the XTZ Amp, and regular speaker cables from the XTZ-amp to the +- on the subs.
It is hard to understand what you're writing. Google translate?
The speakers in the picture are DIY and I don't have any more info than that.
(If you're talking about the picture with the subs).
I'm not sure which speakers I will be using yet, but it will be some that are meant for film, not music. Maybe DIY.
I have not heard them in action, but I have a pretty good idea how they sound. They sound very clean, dry and tight.
I got a very good price on them and payed no more than the price of the parts. I do not know of any documentation of the build, so I can't help you with that.
I'm not yet sure what I'll do to WAF them up, I need to see them in my room first. I'll keep you updated here when I know.
It's all good, tang! Thank you!
Haha, deal. Getting the subs next week.
Today 3 of the 6 recliners I've ordered will arrive.
Thanks for answers
man, this is going to be one crazy build. i will follow this with interest.
