IW's Flawed Logic behind Shotguns

Damage all the way for me.

Especially if you're running specialist because damage doesnt unlock when you get your specialist bonus.
 
Im getting my arse handed to me using this stupid usas Im determined to max it out though :suicide:
 
I experimented with Range last night and had some good results. Not sure which is better IMO.

What maps do you guys enjoy using the shotties on? I find that mission is the best, followed by underground.

I was a couple of kills away from a usas moab on Mission, then i died to martydom:mad: Really good map for shotties if you stay around the middle/B dom.

Both are actually decent shotty maps but I like running around the alleys/market on Seatown, i stay well away from red building though.

You would think that Dome would be good but i always seem to do **** with a shotty for some reason:(
 
Dome, Seatown and Bootleg are also fun with shotties
 
I use Shotties on all maps except Interchange and Bakaara. Sometimes I use a SG in Bakaara with a TI to defend B in Domination.

Can't say about Fallen or Outpost as I never play those ****** maps anymore.

Agree on dome. I think it's because the shape and spawns of the map are the reason it's hard work. I tend to get in a building. Get 5-6 kills in a row then go on a deathstreak :suicide:

Was close to a spas12 moab yesterday but the game ended when I was on 23 =[ I then got to 22 on hardhat but someone spawned on me.

Definitely.

Even though its a small map, a lot of gun fights are at longish range (well, out of shotty range at least!). I like to be right up in peoples face with a shotty so they don't have a chance.

My favourite map is Lockdown. I know someone is invariable going to complain about B for me saying this.

But on Lockdown forget the objective, and especially B, and just patrol about the A flag area and its kill city as there are a whole bunch of spawn points around the A flag area.

The walkway corridor between C and A is good for picking off people too.

Best advice to give, Capture B and C and leave A uncapped and then camp around A and its non stop kills. If they get C. Recap it. Don't then get A.

Second best. BOOTLEG Stay in the room above the stairs as everyone runs to that room.

Third best Arkaden. Patrol the area between the back room up the left stairs from C and down the far end of the main room towards the escalators towards the other room with entry to the C flag.

Forget B and A areas totally.

Fourth Hardhat; Stay in the room up the hill from A. Everyone runs towards it. Avoid the tunnel to get to it. Go the long way round if you die (thats not the route going past C either) go towards A and up.

Fifth best Mission. Patrol the area between B and C flags. Forget A area totally.

Sixth Dome; for obvious reasons.

Seventh; Carbon stay in one of the central rooms with the stairs up from either A or further up from B. Everyone goes to those two rooms and you can pick them off running up the stairs.

Eighth Village. C flag area. Forget everywhere else as its sitting duck time. C flag area is good for shotguns though.

Forget the rest. I am surprised people said Underground as the only good area is the B flag section. The rest is long open tunnels and areas meaning people pick you off from a distance with Assault Rifles (usually camping at A).

And Seatown I would rather have my eyes burned out with cigarettes.

seatown because of its tight alleyways/rooms

Seatown is one of, if not the, best shotgun mpas in the game. Every time it comes up I wish I had my gold usas to wreak havoc in the buildings and alleys by the market area.

Stick around the market, the 2 buildings next to the market, the alleys next to the library leading to C and the crevices round by the fountain area, and the alleys leading to A. The only no-go areas are the long roads on either side, or the area by the well.

To be honest, any map is a good shotty map, it all depends on adapting your game style to it. I've gone 24-10 tdm on Bakaara with a silenced KSG-12 with only range before, and that aint really a 'typical' shotgun map :rotfl:
 
Agree. You can make the shotgun work on any map. However It's hard to pull out a big game on a map like bakaara. Whereas getting 50kills+ on mission is seemingly a doddle with the shotgun.
 
Easiest map to use the shotty, for me, without doubt is interchange. If you have A and B and hover around their 2 exits from C you have an absolute field day. Got my USAS to 29 last night, so Ex Mags and Range/Damage (damage gets me more 1 hit kills) and was easily slapping the noobs. Looking forward to getting my HD PVR next month and making vids of these shotties as they urge you to run around like a maniac and wreck folk.

I'm 8th prestige now as of last night and have 4 tokens to spend on double xp (holding 2 back for double weapon xp) so should be 10th pretty soon, looking forward to ranking up the usas and striker, and the ksg again :D
 
Loving the Striker now I've got range/ext mags :)

It was fun without them but the fun is on a whole new level now, lol :)

If it means anything. But my advice you are wasting those tokens using them on standard double XP.

The reason I say this is you get around equal the XP from maxing the guns out (10k) which you can easily do with using them on double weapons XP.

Using standard double XP you just get the in game XP which say for example you played Kill Confirmed. Got 20 kills a game and say in 2hrs you played 6 games. That is only 12,000 XP. Say you got the tokens ever time that makes it 24,000 XP.

You can get that in two games from using the secondary's with double weapons XP. (handguns get to level 7 with double weapons XP with about 25 kills).

I have used double XP and double Weapons and if I was doing it over. I would never touch a double XP. Always Double Weapons.

You get literally so much XP for ranking up the guns that its better all round to use on ranking up the weapons as you are killing two birds.

I got a quad with the spas12 yesterday on mission. 2 guys were running towards me. I got one shot off and ducked around a corne, jumped back around and fired at the 2 guys again only to notice the 2 had turned into 4. QUADDDDDD. I then died to martydom but that is besides the point...

I was intending on using my prestige token to get the striker for the next prestige. Upon reading anthony's post I am tempted to save it for double wpn exp when p10.

That map is so much fun with a shotgun. If the enemy are spawning at c domination you can just patrol those alleys like a boss and rack up alot of kills. It get's hard if they are spawning A because your team just picks them off with AR.
 
Got the 'flatliner' accolade on seatown last night (3 killstreak while near death) as I'm leveling up the striker to take advantage of the, ahem, 'slightly overpowered' ext mags and range set-up. Three guys in a the two story building looking over the market, blat, blat, blat

Such a laugh these shotties!
 
Can someone please clarify what USAS set up is best:
Is it Damage/Ex Mags or Range/Ex Mags.

I tend to run with the Spec Class.
 
I've only read the first post, in work & not got time to read through it all.
The fact about realism & one hit kills was mentioned. Being realistic, why aren't hits to the chest & head with any gun not instant kills? Ok, maybe getting shot in the chest you do have a chance of survival in the real world but in the head very very little chance of living!
The game is not realistic, it is just that - a game
 
This is something I never thought I'd ever say. But finally got the Gold 1887.

That gun is so **** it is not even worth having in the game.

Now every Golden Shotty unlocked.

In terms of opinion of how they rank against each other now used them all alot.

USAS > Striker > > > > > > > KSG > AA12 > SPAS > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > 1887
