I am about to sell my Acer laptop and wish to wipe the harddrive as I've used it to for my online bank account.

The 'eraser' has an option to erase all data on the drive, but does that include the windows operating system aswell, as I don't have the disc.

Or should I use the 'recovery cds' which came with the acer, which when used, reformats the drive and restores it with the original software content?

I am not too sure which to do first or if I have to both of the above.

Should I run the 'recovery cds' which will erase the drive, then run http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/ afterwards, or vice versa?

Does the 'Boot nuke disk' erase the windows operating system when used?

    Thanks

No need for third party software at all

Using your recovery discs to reformat your notebook will be sufficient. Just be sure to obviously grab your documents and files on an external hard drive
