Anyone getting this will be my next new phone not had a new phone for about 3 years. All my mates have been trying to get me on the android bandwagon

P4u have managed to get their hands on it before any other phone retailers out there, so you'll be able to snap one up as early as 1 October on a variety of tariffs across a many networks.

    1.5GHz dual-core:smashin:

Going by the reviews of the headset you get with this phone the sound quality is really really good

Liking the red detailing and the spec bump. Not so much Sense UI which I got tired of a while ago. Judging by thread popularity on here it seems most people are opting for the Galaxy S2 as their dual core phone of choice rather than the Sensation.

I am quite tempted, I read about the phone a few weeks back.
What is it the makes the Galaxy so popular? Is it the screen?
What are stocks like, are they being held back?

Video preview of the upcoming HTC Sensation XE handset

HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio -- we go ears-on (video) -- Engadget

One question though, is the Dr. Dre sound hardware or software driven?

    Update:
A quote from GSMArena... " We were quite disappointed to find out that the Beats technology is purely software-based - there's no special audio hardware on the inside. But then again this means that it can be ported to other HTC phones, so it's not all bad."

I would rather wait until HTC incorporate Beats sound into hardware rather than software. I find it a bit of a con really imo

Planning to get this ASAP i love the design and spec of this phone wish they upgraded the RAM to 1Gb as they over clocked the processor would of made it a bit more future proof.

It's software driven, gives you a graphic equaliser tuned to the acoustic properties of the beats audio earphones.

HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio, we go ears-on (video) -- Engadget

If it was just including beats audio earphones why would the phone have an option to turn beats audio on or off?

As it's software it can be ripped and ported to other devices, as far as I know it's only been ported to the evo 3D so far but I'm sure it'll come to others.

if you mean wait until competitors respond to the iPhone 4s/ iPhone 5, then do we think they will have handsets ready to go?

XE didn't see the point of going for the normal one which has a slower processor no free headphones and less storage, i paid £69.99 for the phone £21.50pm on contract which gave me:

    200 mins
    Unlimited Texts
    500 mb of data

When you say no 'tomtom' do you specifically mean tomtom? Has it got the Google Maps navigation system?

I use that a LOT on my Wildfire and am thinking of upgrading to the Sensation XE.

    Thanks :)

Can I ask where you bought it SIM free for that price of £450 please. I'm tempted to jump ship from my iPhone 4 as well as unimpressed by 4S.

I'm looking at Sammy S2, Sensation standard and XE, Xperia arc. I'll buy SIM free as well as I'm on 3 PAYG for £15 get unlimited data. What tariff you on if you bought it SIM free?

    Cheers

    Hi Mate,

I was exactly the same. I said to myself if they announced a 4S that i would jump ship. The the sole reason that Apple are just trying to make more and more money.

Here is the link for the sim free XE.

The S2 wasnt doing it for me as it looks like the S3 may be out in a couple of months...

For my sim, I got a deal with three: SIM 300 - 12 month.
    Includes:
    300 minutes
    3,000 texts
    1GB internet

£10 a month for 12 months and i got £60 cashback already from quidco... so that works out £5 a month all-in lol

    Cheers

Cheers for that. I maybe look at the 12month SIM then only difference is I get unlimited data. If you watch TV it uses loads, and spotify etc so unsure. eg I watched TV for an hour, checked usage and was about 250Mb already!

Did you have an iPhone 4 then before XE? Did you sell it? Can I ask how much you got and where'd you sell it? I was going to put mine up at work for around £350 with cases, screen cover and hope to get around £320.

I'm still undecided on Sensation, XE or S2 though. Will probably only have for a year as I cam imagine. E iPhone 5 will be a big jump. I'm an Apple fan but not fanboy! I have an iMac, iPad 2, Apple TV, touch etc but I wanted a bigger screen at least.

What made you go for XE over standard, I've heard that the battery can just be bought anyway, the CPU is same just a little faster. I'm not really bothered about the beats tbh, I do use it as a player, just not that much.

Nice to hear from someone who was iPhone and now changed, I think a lot of people were a little disappointed with 4S, it's a big jump for 3Gs users I admit. Did you consider any other phones? Why wasn't S2 for you if I can ask?

Never heard of that shop they ok? I was going to get from Amazon, but it's £500, I take it that's cheapest price you can find to? Seems to be?

    cheers

Sold my iphone 4 on here! £315 as a quick deal as i just wanted rid. It was the 32Gb version...

I thought the faster processor was worth the extra money. The beats stuff is pretty cool too TBH! lol

I havnt used that shop either but i read some reviews online and it looks ok! Waiting in for the delivery now. Ordered yesterday and its guaranteed for saturday delivery, suits me!

My choice was nexus prime, note, titan or the XE. The XE won it for me lol
