    I bought a technicolour TG582N off ebay to save a few pounds rather than £40 from plusnet, ready for a new broadband install.

    Today I tried to connect to my router to my mac mini to set it up ready for activation date but I can't access it.

    I have tried
    admin, administrator, Administrator and left password blank or tried the serial number.

    I don't know which ISP the router came from?
    SSID:smarterbroadband

    I have reset the router.

    Can anyone offer any suggestions to access the router settings?

    Try the serial number as the password?

    Ooops, I realised you'd already tried that! :blush:

    If the serial number has characters, make sure you use the right case. I had to use upper case on my Thomson router on O2.

    You tried;

    SuperUser as the log in name ( note the capital S at start & U in the middle! )

    & then the serial number as the password? make sure you include the 2 letters at the start of the serial number.

    I've got 2 of these but there O2 branded & both serial numbers start with CP

    very common for this model is

    username - Administrator (capital A)
    pass - default wireless password often printed on the bottom of the router. usually all capitals.

    As above often in small type on base of unit. For the password try "password "user will no doubt be "admin". I've had some routers where on the initial setup the password is left blank but you've tried that so give password a go.
