    Hi Wes,

    Thanks for the comment

Yes, the room is being plasterboarded and then skimmed, all the AV has now been taken out and put away until the room is finished

This thread is amazing! What a good friend supplying and fitting the floor for you.

I like that you've made room for your Kinect. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks for those pics of the speaker brackets Mark, I appreciate you taking those for me, Certainly looks surprisingly solid, do you know happen to know what weight those speakers are or alternatively the model name and I'll look it up.

I don't imagine I have a warranty on my conservatory anymore but if I'm going to put holes in it I want to be a success. :)

    Hi Sun,

I bought the speakers from richer sounds about 6 years ago they are 'Gale Moniters' I have found the nearest like for like now available and included a link below, the weigh 2.7 kg each

Gale SILVER MONITOR Black | Speakers Per Pair | Richer Sounds

the brackets were bought about 10 years ago and are made for the speakers howerer I cannot find them anymore :(

the frames in our conservatory are made up of about 4 layers of pvc, so the screws had plenty to bite on, I cannot see yours being much different, but please don't quote me,

If you do give it a go and it doesn't work out you can always fill the holes with white silicone

Hope this Helps, Good luck :smashin:

Yes everyone who sees the bedroom floor says its a nice job, you can see some of the oak floor front room in the pictures, that was his handy work aswell about 4 years ago, he will be re sanding and sealing it once the room is plastared,

    again done for free

    I owe him a pint........ or 10 :D

Seriously great work going on here mate, real thought gone into the build and kudos on running the network cables into the loft, much much better than using wireless! :)

    Another Update,,,

Nothing happening in the living room just yet, all the funds are focused on the new bathroom,

I have however 99% finished the pc room in the loft

Just needs some minor details to finish it off.

Hi Mark, quick question again if you don't mind, I've drilled a pilot whole in a couple of places in my frame to see what's behind the upvc, it appears to be about 5mm of upvc and then a metal frame behind. Do you know whether that's about what you had?

Also did your self tapping screws go into the metal frame as well or only through the upvc?

    Cheers
    Mat

Loving the AV refurb that you hav been doing. Its very inspirational. How do you find the Onkyo amp. Im looking at upgrading my 10 year old Sony amp and am very interested in the Onkyo as it has good reviews but nothiing is better than a recommendation from someone who actually owns the thing.

The onkyo amp has been amazing  for the price and the size of room I have its perfect, I to upgraded from an 10 old amp (yamaha) so it feels like a big leap forward I have olny tried it a few times and I think it still needs tweeking but I will do this when the room is finished, I played around with it while watching transformers 3 in 3d, and the action sounds great,
