Yes i did add on the new DreamElite image will give it a week to see how it goes.I was really used to the Nabilosat E2 Black hole image.I will give this a go for now, just need to do some more reading about this image.

About the Dm8000 what size HD does it take?Is it the 2,5 or bigger?Im thinking of getting one but the price is putting me off at the moment. How is your box doing?Have you had any problems with it so far or not?

Mine replaced skyhd and a DM800 so i needed more then 2 tuners, the DM8000 is perfect for me. I've had no problems at all with it, the odd crash when loaded something but nothing serious.

    Great sat box.

How much disk space does the 800 use when recording SD or HD per hour of recording?

All depends on the channel you're recording, and the bitrate it's recording. Most uk hd channels that I've recorded, record at a rate of around 4.5 - 5.5 gb per hour. On a swedish HD channel I'd recorded, that was at a rate of around 7.2 gb per hour...

As for sd, on most uk channels, that's recorded at around 1.75 gb - 2.15 gb per hour...

What format is it recorded in - and is it easily transcoded to something like xvid?

Not sure about the exact encoding, but it's inside a .ts container. I wouldn't have thought it'd be too much of a hassle to convert to xvid or such like. They play straight away on most pcs iirc when transferred over. Have also transferred some quite easily to dvd before (SD obviously, not HD)...

Image on and ready to rock and roll. Got a 640GB drive coming for it, £49 from CCL so not too bad, and the sat dish is being installed on Wed morning :)

Will let you know when its running.

Did you buy it locally or import? I'm on the cusp of buying one - but i'll be buying locally to avoid any heartache.

I just have had delivery of mine from Worlds No.1 HD satillite receiver - DM8000 - delivered in 24 hours - good stuff.

I'm new to this - so it will be a learning experience. Is there any place I can find out about the differences between the different images? Which is best?
