Connected TV to PC but screen flickers. Any ideas?

    Hi,
    SONY KDL40W2000, connected to my pc by a bog standard VGA cable, but the image on the screen flickers around the icons & text.:thumbsdow

    Do you experts know if there is there anything I can do to fix it?

    What refresh rate have you set your PC to? I don't know what rate it will support for each resolution, but the higher the better.

    Hi Ian,

    I have a Sony bit haven't tried VGA only HDMI via DVI. The picture is perfect. If your pc can do DVI I'd advise you to try this.

    Its an old dell laptop. Dont even think hdmi was around when this was new :-(

    The refresh rate is 60hz (whatever that means), looking at the options it goes up to 85hz.

    Lantib I have a w series and get the best results by using 1360 x 768 at 60 Hz and get a rock steady picture with the TV set at Full2. There are 2 adjustments in the TVs PC setup the first tries to automatically settle the picture if that does not work try altering the setting labelled phase.
