Liking the perk system. Apart from me taking so long to level up, so having to buy/unlock-early some of the decent perks I want.

I've ditched tactical and secondary for another 2 slots.
To get that 11th slot, you have to ditch primary!... you have to be a big fan of the knifing style to go with that! (unless you aim to pick up dead peep's guns all the time)

I've just got enough perks to play with now to run with Specialist package.
Perks I've got now, as I recall, are Lightweight (which includes mantling speed improvement in this one perk, this time round, Ghost - though not sure how long I'll keep this. And Amplify, which I only just bought, but can see this being another year of sound-whoring!
Got Scavenger in my first Specialist slot, which is staying there.
The rest is a work in progress. I foresee much experimenting!
    Oh yeah, I want Flinch!

I've only tried 2 ARs so far, Honey Badger, which is nice, and I think the Remington I have now, seems quite powerful. Always with the silencer and extended mags.

Looking forward to trying the SMGs, though tried one for about 10 seconds and it was awful, anything over 5 (game) metres away and the recoil was ridiculous. The Bizon, I think it was.

    How do you take yours?

This is what I'm working with.

To be honest I don't see myself playing this much longer. Just one day in and I'm burnt out.

    No secondary
    No grenades

    Quickdraw
    Dead silence
    Off the grid
    Hardline
    Stalker

    Killstreaks

    Satcom, Dog, Juggernaught Maniac

Nice, I like the look of that class.
I see lots of peeps using Quickdraw, I guess it's the way to go, but it just seems so over-priced to me, at 3 slots!
    I suppose that split-second advantage means a lot during face-to-face 1-on-1's
    but 3 slots?!

I'm working on a couple of classes

    MR 28
    Silencer
    Red dot

    IED

    Ready up
    Stalker
    Flinch
    Extreme conditioning

    SC 2010

    Red dot
    Grip
    Silencer

    IED

    Stalker
    Max ammo
    Flinch
    3rd attachment

Silencer seems to be a must in this game, and I've never been one for them but as soon as you fire, you die if you are heard.

I have gone for a stealth class. Is helping me to pick up my kd and play some objectives, but it struggles for range on the bigger maps.

I've started using a silenced Remington 5- that seems to be the don of AR rifles. Range doesn't decrease that much with a silencer.

I've gone back to the Remington.
Played with SMGs for a bit, thought they were the answer to my prayers, cos they're faster/more agile, so they get you around quicker, but, they're no match for ARs at anything other than v close range, so it's not worth it.

I'm really happy that the SMGs seem more realistic in terms of range than in black ops 2. Virtually no recoil on the Remington makes it easy not to waste an attachment on a grip.

Gone back to the Remington too but with silencer & grip.

    Perks;
    Ready up
    QuickDraw
Dead Silence (footsteps much louder in this game!)
    Focus
    Hardline

    My RNG class.

K7 with grip and RDS (silencer built in)
    IED
    No tac/No secondary
    Slight of hand
    Agility
    Marathon
    Dead Silence
    Amplify

    Sat Com/Dog/Chopper as killstreaks

This works a treat and on the smaller maps and makes getting across the large maps very easy

Anyone tried/is using any of the new class 'Marksman' rifles?
Supposedly somewhere in between an assault rifle and a sniper rifle.
When it says semi-automatic, assume that still means single burst only, right?

That's right mate-you can get an attachment which allows burst fire but you still need to spam the trigger.

ahh ok, so like a (very) long-range assault rifle with short burst max.
shame they don't go fully auto, I can never deal with burst fire.
mind you, these maps, don't get to use too much VCQC!
have you tried any of 'em?

all that said, the range on the Remington is excellent anyway.
I'll give these puppies a go though, once I have loads of spare points.

I like the idea of running Dead Silence and Amplify from the start. That would be my choice too.

I found this as I took a brief look at what was possible

Edit: For some reason the forum dislikes the link so you'll have to search for: ghosts-perk-calculator

Might not be a great deal of use if you have access to the app, but the excel sheet would at least allow you to backup some swapped out classes. I used to faff around with cropped screen grabs off of Elite.

If it's the one from DW24/7 it doesn't look right, names and perk points are wrong

Ah, apologies I could see Amplify was wrong, but I didn't know about the points. The Spreadsheet version has been updated from the 8.22 version available on the initial landing page. I found the Google Doc link now and it looks like at least the points have been edited.

Ak-12 is better than the Remington in my experience. Bigger clip gets you out of trouble! I wish the maps were smaller as I want to try the shotguns but like you mentioned, don't seem suited for CQ.

Yeah @Phragzy said its a good'un. It's the last AR that I haven't unlocked, next on my list to try.

I tried one of the Marksman rifles, they're great for camping and picking off (aka sniping).
So I don't agree their claim of it being an AR/sniper combo. You can't hip fire with 'em with any degree of accuracy. You have to be still and ADS to use them.

I was caught out a few times myself in those examples you gave hence why I binned em off. Try the MSBS before they nerd it- if you can handle it, this is currently the most lethal AR. I found that it kills with one burst close up, and 2/3 at distance, even with a silencer on. Again, not great for hip firing but if you put full auto attachment on, it's easily the most effective AR.

I realise how broken that perk spreadsheet was now wrong names on three perks and the second sheet was missing the vital code for 8>11 plus all too big so I've squashed it down so you can see the top row of 5 and most of the next row of 5 on a netbook screen.
