Question CD Player to work with Edifier R1280T Powered Bookshelf Speakers.

I hope I can please get some advice here ?

I am looking for a small CD player that I think needs a built in pre-amp and Speaker switch box.

I currently have a Audio-Technica AT-LP60 turntable and a set of Edifier R1280T Powered Bookshelf Speakers.

I want to get a CD player that I can plug in to the speakers as well. Hence wanting a manual or auto 2 way switch box. (I believe that bit is easy)

But I am struggling to find a small CD play as I don't know if it needs a pre-amp or not ?
If push comes to shove, I can put a CD separate HiFi unit under my record deck, but would prefer not to.

I don't need high end kit, budget will do as its just to play CDs on in my office/music room.

Tangent have small compact CD players that might work

bit thick here but these speakers are remote volume controlled so cant see why you need a pre amp. you just plug a cd player like password mentioned into them surely
