Looks really good, ive gone for two in gloss black, I have a thick carpet so im guessing the carpet spikes are the best bet as opposed to the rubber feet, is there any reaosn you arent using the spikes?

The spikes, mains lead, stereo RCA cable, and HL lead all come free anway. You could call them up and order over the phone jsut to be sure.

Got a call this morning and my Gemini is coming tomorrow :clap::clap:

Thank god I will be working from home and can give it a test with teh parents out at work :rotfl:

Just wondering when you ordered it? Currently I'm on my second week of waiting but I've chosen a Walnut finish. So hopefully next week for me?

Very keen to hear from owners how they sound, how powerful and deep the base is, and general overall impressions of the pace and abilities of this sub, especially as some members on here have the attitude they arent a "real" sub. I cant see how anyone could say that given the specs, 150W and a 10" driver seem like a good solid combination that would suit most peoples movie watching and living rooms.

I suppose some people want to bring the house down when watching a film, I want a strong full base that can do a bit of shaking when needed, but more importantly sounds good and can keep up with movies and music.

Ive bought blind, but going on the reviews and spec its looking good. That's possibly the only problem buying direct is you can do comparisons against other subs before you buy, but since it has the reputation to blow any sub for £200 out of the water it seems a safe enough bet.

I too ordered a Gemini II for my cinema room. Its should be with me within the next ten days.

The improved Gem II looks like a nice sub for the money and I'm sure I will be happy.

My room is sounding fantastic with my Onkyo 876 and Tannot F4's F1's and FC anyway...so with the added sub it can only improve.

Gemini Mk2 with Denon AVR-3801 and Orb.
Probably needs some running in, but feels a bit week for a 25 x 12 room. Presently got the gain up and rocks the room with AVP 3.
Very subtle for music (as it should be), but can notice the difference once I switch it off. Probably give it a few days. :smashin:

That is a big room, im looking at approximately 18 x 11, so biggish, but im going to be using two of them. Might be something to look at doing sometime Aquarianx, you could maybe have one either end of the room.

Hopefully with some tweaking and running in you'll get a strong base out of the one, otherwise I suppose two or a Monolith is the way to go.

    Hi Pete

Sorry for the hijack - But I would love to know what that oak AV/Plasma stand is - It's exactly what i've been looking for.

    Many thanks for any info.

Used it properly for the first time last night, and boy was Death Race a worthwhile choice. The score is very bass heavy, and the car sounds plus explosions really made me reach for the remote to turn it down a little as I was worried my parents were being shaken out of bed upstairs :D

Will get a review up once properly calibrated. Spoke to Tom @ BK yesterday and he said the SPL meters should be coming in today

    It's a pretty little thing:

    Hi,

It's a Blok 4000 series in light oak.

    Check out http://www.blokuk.com/

I ordered mine from AV4Home | LCD wall mounts | Plasma mounting brackets | Projector wall brackets | Home cinema furniture UK | TV Furniture | Vogels Wall Mounts

Blok 4000 - Oak TV / AV Cabinet Furniture

I paid £408 inc delivery at the start of January. Prices have now gone up though to nearer £500. It comes already assembled and it's top quality too.

I've also got a Moderna unit in my other room. It's finished in Walnut but is also available in light oak. It's just as good but is larger in terms of dimensions.

    Alphason | Moderna Series - Model: MD1300-BV

Does anyone know the frequency response of the Gemini's, I know they have a cut off adjustment up to 120Hz but i dont believe this is the frequency response, anyone know?

Im looking to use very small satellites with the Gemini's so would likely set the crossover to 120 or 140Hz, so want to know whether they would go as high as 140Hz.

By the graphic in the manual, I'll say 120Hz.

I looked in my Gemini II and it is 120.

    Hi everyone

I think i know what the answer will be but........

I'm in the process of building an entire new system for my mum's house and we've chosen the Q Acoustics 1010i speaker package.
    But..........
I'm not impressd with the Qacoustics sub though and could get the Gemini II for similar money.

    Should I?

(I would get the bargain Epos but she wants it all colour coding)

    Rich.

    Go for it.

It will be far better than the Q acoustics sub:thumbsup:

What's the low end response like?
    Can't find any details.

Is the (non gloss) black finish a wood effect or a Matt black texture?

    Thanks

I'm so glad its not a wood effect in black.

Its just a matt black smooth finish. No veneer here thank goodness.

The Sub is really nicely built, is heavy and oozes quality.

The finish is really nice too,

    In short, yes!

I have the complete Q Acoustics speaker package and although the sub was OK it was the auto power off/on behaviour that annoyed the most. During quiet periods in films or TV programmes it would switch off. It would then switch on again during a loud/bassy moment but would take 30 secs to warm up and all of the dynamics of the scene could be lost. No amount of tinkering with sub levels could solve the problem. I also had the sub replaced by Q Acoustics to no avail.

I decided to go for the XLS-200DF (mostly due to these forums) and it is brilliant. Well worth the money and now that the Gemini II is closer to the performance of the XLS-200 but a pretty large chunk of money cheaper I would be on the phone to BK now!
