Ive done rather smashing out of this.

Managed to get some KEF3005SE for £700 (go about £1000 on net)
Got an Pioneer LX55 for £630 - it was priced at £1000 with 30% off but found somewhere in store where it had been ticketed wrong so got an extra £70 off:D

then managed to get a rather smashing QED Reference subwoofer cable at 60% off and a load of reels on rocket fish speaker cabling (looks decent stuff) £8 for 50ft down from £20

Add on top of this the Samsung phone style remote I picked up for £100 (£240 on price runner) and a 3D starter pack (two active samsung glasses + master mind 3D) for £50 down from £100 and I've done rather well:D

I only need one but got the other three as thought might as well get it cheap while can as I'm planning on moving house in the next year(ish) theres still plenty left. Do you live near a best buy as for the weight of it in shipping won't be far off the £8 purchase price!

picked up some of the insignia speakers for £55. Have to say they sound like speakers 3 to 4 times the price. Picked up some of that speaker cable too, will get some more when it goes to 75% off soon. Also picked up a VSX420 for £75 not a bad amp but worth it for that price. Hoping for some more bargains tomorrow, as I've noticed the last 3 weeks that they reduce further on Wednesdays.

thats ok buddy just thought i would be cheeky and ask as i just needed a little bit more to wire my rear speakers in :smashin:

my nearest best buy is 40min away so not worth it for a roll of cable when i can get belkin pure av from amazon for around the same price.

I went to the Merry Hill outlet, 2 days ago, and it was all still overpriced compared to what I could get it for.

Maybe when the Grim Reaper comes knocking, there might be better deals?

I have only just seen this and had a look on their website, they only have kitchen stuff left and its really over priced, Bosch dishwasher £429.99 > after discount £343.99 > Currys £336 and piece of mind you can go back to retailer for warrantee. I guess there were some bargins

I think I'm now banned from my local store as after 2 visits to the store hunting for bargains I asked a sale man when the sale started.......

Have to say most stuff can be bought for the same price or slightly cheaper online. I did find a Pioneer LX75 for £899 which is about £250 cheaper than I can find anywhere but thats it.....

Are KEF 3005.3 a different to the 5.1 setup 3005SE as I certainly hope so as I picked up a set for £700 from Rotherham along with a Pioneer LX55 (£630)

Tommy when did you get the LX55 ? I was in the Rotherham store Friday and they only had LX53 and LX75 left. Just wondered if they are still getting new bits in.

Damn, I paid £620 for the VSX-2021 and I thought that was a good price.

Problem for me is the nearest one is 90min drive away.

I just bought the LX75 from Rotherham today ... they had two new, sealed LX-75s in the Nottingham branch on Boxing Day afternoon if you're still looking (and ex-display LX82 and LX83 both at £800 in Derby). £899 was about £899 more than i'd planned to spend, but had been wanting an upgrade to DTS-MA (and the girlfriend made me do it having been to Best Buy once too often over the past few days...).

Think they had an ex-display 53, and a boxed harman-kardon (original ~700, now 380, not sure of model). They had the boxed arcam for 1020 from ~ 1700 (most branches seem to have those boxed).

Yeah there isn't a huge amount of stuff left! They did have some good discounts on Apple accessories but most of that is sold now. There are quite a few TV sets left instore and they have 20% off now.

it amazes me that people are still getting giddy about 3D, for G's sake its on its way out. You may think you are currently getting a bargain but it will be an expencive paperweight/dress up glasses one day soon. LOL

Why is it on its way out? And apparently this year we should be seeing 3D TV's that don't require you to wear glasses (I'm guessing they will be more depth than pop out 3D though like a 3DS)
