I like it now. Bit of colour to it and as Sounds says lots of info in one place.

BBC - Sport Editors: Changes to the BBC Sport website

Hate it myself, but reserving the right to change my mind

Too much info crammed into a narrow space. Over-use of yellow. Odd angles jutting in and out everywhere. Disorientating as it interrupts the eye-line and concentration

Also is it some kind of BBC joke I do not get that Formula 1 is prominently next to Football in the navigation panel, when the BBC decided to drop live coverage for 50% of races :suicide:

I don't like it at all, hate all the yellow. I hope I'll get used to it but if not I'll have to find somewhere else.

It looks pretty good to me.

The BBC site was well due a little facelift anyway.

I'm still on the fence. I like the extra content it is now providing (especially the detailed league tables for each team), I'm just not sure of the layout. It doesn't flow, but this may come over time. The headlines in a column straight down the middle seems odd.

One thing, I'm pretty sure there was a section in the old layout for European football news. For the life of me, I can't see it anywhere on the new site?

Could someone post a link to the page if you come across it.

    Cheers

i like it, except for how the yellow and black banners spread to fill your browser window rather than stop at the width of the content, that looks a bit rubbish.

also can't seem to expand the top scorers list for the premier league, it only shows the top 3 scorers now.

It looks like the first ever website I made when I was about 17. Too much in no particular order. Although that being said, the live text for the football last night was alright.

I like it, always takes time to get used to change. I too thought it was funny putting F1 next to Football,

Yes I was going to say that. It's information overload and not easy to find what you are looking for. Too much information in one go can be a bad thing.

I'm hating the fact that when you view results it gives you the result for the last 7 days or so for each league. This means you have to process more information just to get today's scores.

I also hate that it's more clicks to get to each league, we aren't all just obsessed with the Premiership you know! You used to be able to easily swap leagues from the menu down the left hand side.

I'm also hating that you have to scroll down a long way to see all the information that's on there, then if you're down near the bottom you have to go all the way back to the top to click on the menu to go to another league.

The league tables and standings are much improved with the additional information now on display but otherwise the site is still disconcerting to navigate

Yet to find the European football section I mentioned earlier in the thread. I don't understand why they would remove it.......unless I'm missing something??

I clicked on world football under programmes and then it gives you Europe on the left hand side :)

Thanks for that mate, I found the link you referred to on the sport homepage but it's not on the football page??

Also, that link is for world service radio broadcasts. I'm just looking for Euro news, league tables etc. It's obvious that European football is not featured anymore, which is disappointing.

It's on the football page near the bottom, click on world football under programmes and then Europe on the left :)

Jesus, they've done a good job of hiding that !! It's a nightmare to navigate, I think I might get in touch with the BBC and let off some steam

that link also takes you to a page which is still the old style layout. How I wish I could switch back to that with the so much easier navigation it offers

    Got it mate, thanks:thumbsup:

Strangely, the 'World Football' link on the sport homepage takes you to a different page than the 'World Football' link on the football page!

    Sport Homepage:

BBC - BBC World Service Programmes - World Football

    Football Homepage:

BBC SPORT | Football | World Football

The new layout is a complete mess IMO, but thanks anyway for not giving up on me mate!!

Another thing I hate. You used to be able to click on fixtures and see all of the fixtures for today. You can't do that now, it always lists starting at the Premier League and there are no fixtures there until Saturday.

So to find all fixtures for today you have to do a hell of a lot more work!

At least they've changed this now. If you click on fixtures at the top it lists them by day and then by league like it used to do, which is a massive improvement.
Now if only I didn't have to scroll all the way back up to the top of the page to change to a different league...

Don't mind it. As with the change to AV Forums at first it is hard to stomach but key is not gut-reacting and giving it time. If you still hate it after a couple of weeks then you know you hate it and you are not confusing it with hating change which most of us do naturally.

Biggest bug bear is when they don't update content but the link says they have, they can be intollerably slow at updating things (like cricket scoreboards for instance) :nono:
