Hi Alastair - could you clarify the warranty status of the new 8 Series panels - Jo Fernand stated earlier today that they came with a 2 Year Warranty.

    Gussie :)

    Afternoon Jay

Yes we've got the pricing for all the models now. Hopefully we will get these on our site tomorrow. Pricing takes a wee bit of working out out and we've concentrated on the 42" as they start arriving next week.

So much to do and so little time to do it

    regards

Hi Alistair, can I make a suggestion. Would it be possible to answer some of the questions on the thread, such as connection options and so on. Its useful info for people like me who are considering flat screens, and saves you being asked the same questions over and over by PM :)

    Thanks

We are constantly reviewing our offers for forum members and further ones may become available over the coming weeks.

    UrbanT
Take your point about providing more general information through the thread. As you are aware everyones requirements are different and normally the first job is to establish what source equipment is being used in the system. It is then a case of recommending options for terminal boards and other connection devices based around functionality, quality and target budget. What is right for one person is not necessarily right for another. We also have to be aware of the the forum rules for resellers when dealing with forum members through this thread. That is the main reason for all the PMs going back and forward.

The new Panasonic PWD8 series will be able to be used for the forthcoming encrypted Sky channels using the new HDMI cards that have also been released.

In terms of the differences we have not had a chance to put our demo PWD8 against our PWD7 as yet. One important change is that the integral D Sub connector now accepts component as well as VGA input. This was disabled on the 7 series.

    Hi, Alastair

Can you provide a quote for TH-42pwd8 silver with desktop stand & 4 year guarrantee.

How much extra would it be for a swivel stand?

I have a Panasonic s97 dvd player so would probably want to connect via hdmi - would this be best? And when skyHD arrives, I assume you could get a switch box to have the 2 hdmi feeds through to one hdmi port on the panel.

I have NTL - scart, and a video recorder which I still want hooked into the system - this does not have Component out (only s-video and scart).

I use a Denon 2105 amp (which can switch s-vid to component).

I assume that if I get an hdmi board and component board, I should get a scart to component converter and send the NTL and video through this to the amp, and then from amp to panel????

What costs for the recommended boards? (if you recommend a BNC component board, can you include 1m RCA-BNC cables).

Last question - do you have any idea (even a rough idea!) as to how much the PHD8 wills sell for? About the same as the current PHD7??

    cheers

    Greg
