Who said I was going to "ditch" Alan Wake. I stated I was not going to buy Alan Wake, that is all.

Besides, I'm quite confident it will be out on the PC a year or so after, just like Halo and I have more than enough to see me through until then.

Yeah i think ill be picking up heavy rain very soon. Gets stellar reviews and early signs are that its certainly a candidate for goty.

As for Alan Wake well i dont really care that its not coming out for the pc. I mean its still coming out at the end of the day and ill just pick it up for the 360.

It's a crying shame Heavy Rain is not a multi platform release like Fahrenheit was. Looks really good.

Always a benifit owning all current gen systems. none of this fanboy rubbish. Yes im gutted at not playing alan wake at 1080p res etc but the 360 can do a decent job for my gaming needs and i rather play a 720p low res alan wake then NO alan wake at all.

if your a semi hardcore gamer than you should be owning alll systems including a gaming pc. i get to play heavy rain and alan wake ;)

Definately getting this on the 360 as it looks superb (already have my SE order in). It is a shame it's not coming to PC (as I mentioned in the 360 thread, before being moaned at by a few 360 fanboys) but that's just how it is so the 360 version it is.

Heavy Rain is actually good? I thought it looked awful from game play footage. You just press buttons when prompted, so it is essentially a QTE game like Dragons Lair or Space Ace?

Alan Wake looks like a proper survival horror on the other hand.

Yeah it's fantastic IMO from the fairly limited exposure i've had of the game so far. It's extremely immersive and you become really involved with the characters and the story. The QTE sections are really well done (as they were in Fahrenheit) and the scenes are pretty open ended so that you can affect them in many different ways.

I can see how the videos may not show it in the best light, but once you play it you realise what a good game it is. :) It's certainly very far removed from say Dragons Lair/Space Ace as the gameplay is not along the same on rails movement. You have full control over your character and instead of say just pressing the X button in a certain situation (i.e. to search something in say Resi Evil), you may do a movement on the stick or press a combination of buttons to try and simulate the action. It's a shame it's not on the PC as whilst the visual style is great, it would look a lot better on a good PC. Great game though .

Really looking forward to Alan Wake as well as although it's a quite different sort of game (more RE4/5 I guess) it still looks fantastic.

Hmmm, I can't think of many "best" 360 games which have failed to appear on the PC, besides Alan Wake  Fact is the "best" games always appear on both PC and 360, with one damn exception however....luckily I have two 360's to play it on but that will not deter me from moaning :rotfl:

Halo (3 onwards) would be a start.

I really can't believe this isn't coming out on the PC. I mean, this was even demoed years ago on an Intel Quad Core to show off the physics.

The Halo series, despite my love for it, cannot compete with the best FPS on the PC. Not a chance....

To be honest it's more the PS3 that has the quality exclusives that don't appear on PC.

Gran Turismo 5, Uncharted 1&2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Warhawk, Heavy Rain, The Ratchet & Clank games, Wipeout HD, Killzone 2, Resistance 1 & 2, Motorstorm 1 & 2, God of War 3, Infamous, Little Big Planet, Mod Nation Racers are a few that spring to mind.

PC vs console - we have done this. If that is the way this thread continues it will be closed.

Too late, losers! I already bought it for £5 on XBox and completed it.

    What a joke.

(p.s. since it will be on Steam bets are on I'll still end up buying it haha)

Excellent - Xbox cast-offs coming to the PC - isn't life great

Considering the original announcement when the PC version was cancelled stated they were "matching this specific game to the right platform" and that the Xbox 360 provided "the most compelling way to experience Alan Wake", it is hard to see how this is a 'good news' story. It seems whether it comes out on PC or not, if you want the 'best' version it will have to be the Xbox version.

Does anyone honestly care. I bought this on the 360 when it came out about 2 years back or so and the unless they sort out the extremely loose control method, it will be almost unplayable.

Was an excellent premise for a game but just played shockingly :thumbsdow

I kinda enjoyed Alan Wake. I don't even think I've completed the DLC yet, and it came with the version I bought.

I wonder if the PC version will include the DLC, etc. I hope the graphics are a good step up too - Most namely in the texture and lighting department. But I suppose there's only so much you can do with shadows and darkness :/

Yes i was perhaps a little harsh. It wasn't a terrible game but i thought the control mechanism sucked.

I would imagine as the game is 2 years old it will come with all DLC and hopefully an overhaul to optimise the code for PC's. (doubtful like)
