Probably about to answer my own question - currently have Sky HD, want to add a freesat HD box to dish to view in conservatory. When I connect the new cable to the LNB, what precautions do I need to take? Should I unplug power to Sky HD box or even unscrew the two feeds to Sky box? Is it possible to get a shock?

There should be no problem whatever you do! The SkyHD STB is supplying a low voltage (about 15V DC) to each of the two LNBs it is connected to. There should be no voltages present on the other two outputs.

Powering off the SkyHD box at the mains is probably safer all the same!
