Before i bought my 3D tv i was all excited, i watched 3D movies on the sky 3D channel, i downloaded the bit of 3D we all got excited the first time we watched a Christmas carol in 3D, Avatar 3D was quite good, but if i'm honest i think it was just a bit of a gimmick, i cant be bothered to put the glasses on these days, i would rather just watch a good movie that is nice and bright without all the hassle of the glasses, does anyone else feel like this, or are you still enjoying your 3D tv.

    This :)

I'll still watch the odd bit of 3D, but to be honest I don't bother much any more.

Love it. Are you passive or active? No glasses hassle or lack of brightness with our LG Cinema 3d set.

I have to say I absolutely love 3D.

Big change for me came around middle 2011 when I acquired a 2D->3D conversion capability (my TV is an early 2010 set which didn't have such a feature built-in). I was so impressed with this (using a Panasonic player) that I even bought a 2nd player (this time a Samsung) that could do the same thing.

There are very few films that I watch in 2D and old films I ALWAYS watch in 3D. The reason for this is because low resolution films look sharper on my setup so it's very much a win win situation (by switching on 3D conversion you get to see the film both sharper AND in 3D!)

I've only watched 1 3D film so far which I did enjoy but for me 3D is all about gaming. I'm currently playing Batman AC and I can't imagine playing it in 2D now, absolutely love it!

It's a shame you haven't got passive. At 16g in weight, they just slip over prescription glasses. You can even get clip-ons for about a fiver.

I've had mine passive set since January and still love watching in 3D. The glasses are so light, flicker free, zero maintenance I love it!!

I don't use the 2D to 3D much to be honest.

@Jason - Do you use the TV 2D - 3D or the blu-ray player to do it? Is on better than the other?

Maybe they'd have been just as boring in 2D;). What were they?

Do any BR players do 2D>3D? It's my TV that does it, and does it very well.

No 2D->3D conversion on the LD950 which is why I bought both the Samsung and Panasonic blu-ray players.

The Samsung certainly produces the strongest conversion but the Panasonic produces the easiest on the eye (never makes an error and therefore never causes any eye-strain).

On balance, I'd recommend the Samsung out of the two.

Pretty much agree. It hasn't really lived up to my expectations. Oe is more pop effect which is sadly lacking in available material but yeah I just cannot be that bothered now as there is nothing really giving me that wow feeling.

I kind of wish I got the passive model too now. After warning the kids not to damage the active glasses I proceeded to sit on two pairs £130 down the crapper. I just wronly assumed that active was better.... reassuringly expensive a they say lol

I watched Coraline in 3D over the weekend looked pretty good :-D just need a film that has a lot more pop out effects though.

I am holding back from gaming in 3D on my D6530 as it displays in 540p but when watching blu-rays it is in 720p.

Just chasing Samsung still as gonna get a D7000.

I wear Panasonic active shuter glasses over my prescription glasses and find them quite comfortable. I dont use the 2D-3D conversion very much as only with the odd dvd have I noticed any real difference. I would like to see the big studios release more "proper" 3D films rather than the current habit of converting them post-production. Of course 3D is about more than the pop out effect but I do find those moments in films great fun and they can look very impressive.

Have to admit I haven't watched much 3D this year. In fact only Drive Angry which I really enjoyed. Have 5 unwatched 3D blurays and no real plan as to when to watch them.

Went to see the 3D Star Wars at the cinema yesterday.
THB i think my TV made a better job 2D>3D conversion than the cinema.
    Wasn't impressed at all.
Even my 12yr old commented that it looked better at home.
Plenty of 3D content out there if you are prepared to search & wait for delivery.
I think i am now well over 45 3D BR on my shelf (Many still unopened & many from members on here)
Thats with Kung Fu Panda 1&2 That shoild have arrived from Amazon today.

I havent gotten bored with it yet, it is just a pity that there aren't so many 3D movies out yet that I can just watch over and over again. But I often try the conversion mode to be honest and the screen does it quite well (LG 47LW650S).
