I think JVC (who were recently awarded our reference badge for the HD950) should be worried, and the consumer looking for a projector at this level should feel lucky to have a hard choice ahead of them. The VW85 has some excellent attributes and offers a performance that is within a few whiskers of reference

Excellent review Phil.

It seems that the JVC still has the edge in blacks levels and native contrast. Out of interest, how does the Sony compare to an HD350 in black levels and native contrast (obviously the Sony will have better colour accuracy).
