Virgin Media has confirmed it has passed the two million customer milestone for its TiVo PVR.
The company now has around 4 million TV service subscribers in the UK so it wouldn’t take a crack mathematician to work out that TiVO now accounts for about half of their customer base.
The trademark Thumbs-Up and Thumbs-Down programme ratings that bring up (or not) suggested content based on your viewing preferences were used 30 million times in 2013 at around 15 times per customer on average. My kids are probably responsible for around 20 percent of those, however

519 shows accessed on-demand
Other tidbits revealed by Virgin include that 519 million TV shows were accessed via on demand, in 2013, and that the various apps were used 174 million times. Virgin didn’t reveal which were the most used, which is a shame, as we would have like to have seen how their brave move with Netflix has gone.
Commenting on the achievements, Scott Kewley, Virgin Media’s director of digital entertainment, said: “Reaching two million TiVo customers is a huge milestone for us and we’re delighted so many people are enjoying what we believe is the best way to watch television.”
