Sony has confirmed the PS Vita Slim (aka PCH-2000) for a UK release on February 7th 2014, so not long to wait.
The recommended retail price will around £180 and it’s just a minor revision to the existing model, although the removal of the OLED screen might make it feel more like a downgrade, than the opposite.
The PCH-2000 is 20 per cent thinner and 15 per cent lighter than the original and has a new micro USB Type B port and 1GB of internal storage memory. There is also an improved battery life to tempt existing owners to make the switch, however, extending play time to a healthy six hours.

6hrs battery life is good, no OLED screen is not
On its release in Japan, there was a choice of six colours - white, grey, yellow, pink, brown, and black – although it’s not clear what we’ll get here.
To accompany the launch, Sony has also confirmed the release of a new 10-game Indie Mega Pack including titles: Thomas Was Alone, Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims in HD, Velocity Ultra, Total Recoil, Alien Breed, Coconut Dodge Revitalised, Men’s Room Mayhem, Limbo, Superfrog HD, and Hotline Miami.
Does the PS Vita Slim make you want to ditch your old version or, for those yet to take the plunge, is it tempting you in?
