Woox Innovations are now the company behind the Philips Audio brand and they have new Home Cinema and audio goods to show out in Berlin at IFA 2014.
Developed with Spotify, the Philips Spotify multi-room speakers allow you to enjoy audio throughout your home – and using your phone or tablet - via Spotify Connect.
The speaker range consists of two models - the SW700M with two 2.5” full-range speaker drivers and two expanded bass ports and the beefed-up SW750M with two tweeters and two 3” full-range drivers. Both models include a Spotify ‘one press play’ button, which you simply press to start the music flowing.
The Philips Spotify multiroom speakers also come with a separate app that enables you to group multiple speakers into a single set. Just set this up once and you can then select the speaker group in the native Spotify app anytime you want.
The Philips Spotify multiroom speakers will be markets from October. The SW700M model’s RRP is €99.99 and the larger SW750M model’s RRP is €149.99.

The multiroom speakers are very well priced
Like its predecessor, the Philips Fidelio B5 (photo at the top) has two wireless detachable speakers but they can now also be used as independent Bluetooth speakers - battery life is up to 5 hours for music and even up to 10 hours in movie mode from just one full charge.
Used in its standard configuration, the Fidelio B5 delivers a standard soundbar experience, but you can place the two wireless detachable speakers behind you for a real surround sound experience. Thanks to the advanced calibration algorithm, you don’t need to worry about the positioning of the detachable speakers. To a degree, anyhow.
Every part of the soundbar, including the main bar and the two detachable speakers, can be used as independent Bluetooth speakers. The main bar also includes Bluetooth aptX and AAC for high-fidelity streaming, as well as NFC for easy and intuitive pairing.
The Philips Fidelio B5 wireless surround soundbar speaker will be available from October for EUR 799.
At less than three centimetres thin, the Philips Ultra-Slim soundbar still includes an array of six, two-inch woofers along with two one-inch premium soft dome tweeters. The subwoofer includes two 6.5” woofers and double bass technology in an incredibly thin 83mm package.
Working together, the soundbar and subwoofer are claimed to deliver a 320W output. The system also feature NFC Bluetooth connectivity aptX and AAC streaming.
The Philips ultra-slim soundbar and subwoofer (HTL6145C) is available for EUR 449 from September.
No doubt we’ll be seeing many of these products in for review, in due course.
