TP Vision has just taken the wraps off its first-ever curved Philips TV.
The 55-inch Philips 8900 4k Ultra HD TV is also powered by Android and certified by Google, meaning easy access to the Google Play Store.
Philips says the ‘massive’ processing power together with an Android operating system allows for the most fluent user interface and the 8900 also features 3-sided Ambilight, which is always cool.

"You're never going to believe what I've bought now, Darling!"
The TV features 1000 Hz ‘Perfect Motion Rate Ultra’ and ‘Ultra Resolution’ to ensure smooth motion sharpness. It also features Local Contrast, to further improve the screens native performance and Micro Dimming Pro, a sensor-based technology that dynamically adapts the LED backlight depending on the ambient room light.
The Philips 8900 TV has a new ‘ribbon stand’ but they really do need to stop nicking everyone else’s marketing terms – LG has already done Ribbon Stand and Samsung use Micro Dimming Pro - although it certainly looks great!
We haven’t pricing or availability details yet but we expect aggressive for the former and soonish for the latter.
