Netflix confirms House of Cards re-elected for Season 3
Netflix has confirmed there will be a third Series of House of Cards, just days before Season 2 takes its bow.
The second season of House of Cards is scheduled to hit the Netflix servers in nine days from now but who’s counting? Actually we all are but the confirmation of a third season will allow us to tear in to it safe in the knowledge there is more to come.

A Netflix rep confirmed the decision to The Hollywood Reporter, just as Netflix revealed it was to take on $400 million worth of new debt to fund original programming.

Netflix confirms House of Cards re-elected for Season 3

The original plan was only for a two season run but evidently the show’s success and popularity – both with the critics and Netflix audience –has seen it elected for a third term.

Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said, back in November 2013, that he wanted more from the show. Speaking at a panel meeting he was quoted as saying, "I think if you look at the original House of Cards, there was a natural third season, and we could go well beyond that."

It’s certainly great news that House of Cards has been given the scope to really expand its characters and plot lines and leaves us with the feeling that Frank is surely destined for the Presidential hot seat at some point.

Frank for President, anyone?
