How To: Game of Thrones Season 6 without Sky Subscription
Your social media channels will, no doubt, have already alerted you to the fact that Game of Thrones Season 6 is upon us; you just can’t escape the GoT hype machine!
The first episode was broadcast on Sky Atlantic at 2am today (25/04/16) with another, more civilised, transmission to go out at 9pm tonight with the pattern repeating every Monday for the next 9 weeks.

While Game of Thrones isn't necessarily going to be everybody's cup of tea, we know that many non-Sky subscribers envy its exclusivity, as well as the rest of the Sky Atlantic line-up but you don’t need to be a Sky customer to see it and nor do you have to resort to downloading, or streaming, it through nefarious sources.

The cheapest and easiest way of getting to see Game of Thrones is by taking out a monthly Entertainment Pass through Sky's NOW TV platform. This will cost you £6.99, for a month's pass, meaning you can get to see it either during the simulcast Sky Atlantic IPTV showing or from the on-demand catalogue as soon as the broadcast is over.

NOW TV has all of Series 1 to 5 plus Season 6 Episode 1 ready to go right now.

If you have the patience, it may be financially prudent to allow a few episodes to accumulate in the on-demand catalogue before taking a subscription. Be warned, they will only stay around for 30 days before being made unavailable, however. For anyone that hasn't seen the previous series', Now TV does have each and every single episode ready to stream through its box-sets roster so you could extract some real value from that seven quid a month.

We reviewed the little £14.99 NowTV Streaming Box on launch, and found it to offer excellent value and if you go for the £24.99 bundle, you’ll get three months of the Entertainment pass thrown in, which will cover you until the series finale. It's not the only game in town for Now TV, however, as you can also get it through all the Roku Streaming family, including the Roku 3 and value Roku Streaming Stick, as well as some LG Smart TVs, YouView boxes, the EETV and Apple TV.

You can also view NOW TV through a Chromecast or Google Cast enabled devices (including Smart TVs other than LG) and there are apps available for iOS, Android plus Windows 8 and 10. Additionally, NOW TV is also on some games consoles including the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3. If you don’t have any of those, you could always watch it in your web browser.

Of course, you may live in a household that already subscribes to Sky and therefore can get SkyGo for nothing but the picture quality might not be all that great. Sky has now discontinued the SkyGo monthly ticket which was available to non-subscribers so NOW TV is now the only (legal) way to see Game of Thrones without an annual commitment.
