DVD stuck

Does anyone know how to get a DVD draw open without using the open button?
I think my youngest has put 2 disks in, now when i push eject i can hear the eject motor run and the draw tries to move but nothing happens.

Re: DVD stuck

Is it a fairly new xbox? Ive had 2 in the last couple of days with the same problem.

There is a small hole near the eject button, if you insert a small pin or extended paperclip and give it a push it should manually eject enough for you to pull the tray out.

Re: DVD stuck

Thanks Ian
I knew about the eject hole on normal drives but thought the xbox ones were different.
There is a small hole just to the left of the eject button but nothing happens when i put a paperclip in.
Do i need to take the drive out to use the eject hole?

Re: DVD stuck

you dont need to take the drive out mate.

the eject mechanism is quite far inside the console maybe about 2" or so so make sure your paperclip is long enough.

Re: DVD stuck

One i sorted out yesterday wouldnt budge at first so i used a pin and something hard to press it in with so it didnt dig into my hands, gave it a couple of taps but it still didnt seem to have moved, then i pressed eject and out popped the tray.

Re: DVD stuck

Thanks guys
I used a pair of pliers to push the paper clip in (had about 10mm left) so you were right about it going in a long way.

When i pulled the draw out (very stuck) there was no discs in there the draw would not shut properly so i took the whole drive out and took the lid of, fiddled about with the mechanism inside and now it works

Just got to load XMBC on now.
