XBOX 1 and Windows Vista

Hi All

Has anyone had any experience with XBOX 1 and Vista under the following scenarios.

- using Vista as a Media file server for XBMC
- using Vista with the official XBOX Media Centre Extender software (not 360)

I'd be interested to know if anyone has found any issues.
Thanks

Re: XBOX 1 and Windows Vista

Current word is that none of the v1 extenders (including Xbox Media Center extender) will work with Vista - currently the only option with Vista is to buy a 360 :-(

However I don't have Vista myself so unable to confirm this for definate (or the XBMC part)

Re: XBOX 1 and Windows Vista

Yep, I have been using XBMC with Vista for a while...they have recently fixed a problem that stopped SMB file access, so its all good now!! Can connect via SMB share or uPnP.

Re: XBOX 1 and Windows Vista

Cheers for the info

I have 2x XBOX1's…so if I upgrade my HTPC to Vista - XBMC will be fine but MCX (used for live tv) will fail…

So it looks like I'll be running XP-MCE for a while yet…
Unless I find another solution….(my wallet is feeling lighter already..!)
