no sound on xbmc

I'm sure their is a very simple solution to this - I hope.

Got home from work and my daughter advises me that she has lost the sound on xbox.
When it boots up into xbmc their is a little white mute symbol in top right corner.
If i go to games and play 1 off of hard drive we have sound.
But navigating through xbmc menu's and playing movies off HD their is no sound.
After playing with xbox remote, pressed 9 and mute symbol dissapeared, but still no sound.
Any ideas ?

And no, the sound was turned up on the tv.

Re: no sound on xbmc

If you have a dvd remote control press 3,

if not press start whilst watching a movie, then choose sound options and from there deselect mute

Re: no sound on xbmc

The right thumb controller lets you decrease the volume right down to zero and then a mute symbol appears. It's not this is it? This is maintained between reboots.

Re: no sound on xbmc

Holding down 3 on the remote did the trick.
Thanks for your help/replies.
