Can't get XBMC as dashboard

I don't seem to be able to get XBMC as my dashboard.
I followed numerous tutorials but my files seem to be in different places or not their at all.
I have a softmodded xbox done using splinter cell.
The tutorials I have followed refer to a file e/Dashboard. Now I do not have this file in e/ or c/. However, I do have evoxdash.xbe in e/.
I currently have XBMC in f/apps.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Re: Can't get XBMC as dashboard

I have followed this but get no joy.

1. Find out what the dashboard on your Xbox is (usually evoxdash.xbe in C)In c/ I have xboxdash.xbe
2. Rename your current dashboard to an alternate bootable name. This will be used as a fallback if execution of the new shortcut fails. Consult the table below, or www.xbox-scene.com for details on your dash.
3. Download the XBMC Shortcut XBE and rename it to whatever the dash was named (usually evoxdash.xbe) changed to xboxdash.xbe
4. Upload the renamed XBE to where the old xbe was (the old dashboard)
5. Install XBMC to somewhere on E: or F: (best to install to E:\Apps\XBMC, making sure the files go in there, so you DONT have E:\Apps\XBMC\XBMC) (Instructions on how to install XBMC can be found under Installing XBMC as an Application)
6. create a text file and put the path to the XBMC default.xbe inside it (eg. E:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe) - I have put F:\Apps\XBMC\xboxdash.xbe
7. rename to whatever the dashboard was named, except use the extention ".cfg" instead of ".xbe" (eg. evoxdash.cfg) - I have put xboxdash.cfg
8. Upload the renamed text file to the same place you uploaded the shortcut xbe to in step 3.
9. Reboot

When I do this in c/ it just starts up in Unleash dashboard and if I do it in e/ I get MS dashboard on start up ?

Re: Can't get XBMC as dashboard

I have followed this but get no joy.

1. Find out what the dashboard on your Xbox is (usually evoxdash.xbe in C)In c/ I have xboxdash.xbe Rename this to UnleashX.xbe
2. Rename your current dashboard to an alternate bootable name. This will be used as a fallback if execution of the new shortcut fails. Consult the table below, or www.xbox-scene.com for details on your dash.
3. Download the XBMC Shortcut XBE and rename it to whatever the dash was named (usually evoxdash.xbe) changed to xboxdash.xbe Is this in C:\? It should be.
E:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe) - I have put F:\Apps\XBMC\xboxdash.xbe In F:\Apps\XBMC you should have default.xbe not xboxdash.xbe - xboxdash.xbe should just be the name of the shortcut in c:\ Your text file should say F:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe
7. rename to whatever the dashboard was named, except use the extention ".cfg" instead of ".xbe" (eg. evoxdash.cfg) - I have put xboxdash.cfg
8. Upload the renamed text file to the same place you uploaded the shortcut xbe to in step 3. Is this in C:\? It should be.
9. Reboot

I have tried this in c/ and e/ but no joy ?

Ok scumball cracked it.
Went back into e/ changed evoxdash.xbe to evoxdashbak.xbe added XBMC Shortcut XBE and changed to evoxdash.xbe.
Now where I was going wrong was the cfg file I was putting F:\Apps\XBMC\xboxdash.xbe and it should have been F:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe.
Many thanks.

Re: Can't get XBMC as dashboard

So evoxdash.xbe in e: was your default boot dashboard? You didn't mention that before.

For UnleashX call it default.xbe and put it (with config.xml and items.xml) in a folder in the Apps folder...
