Hi, I have a samsung lcd tv set, and I'm trying to use it as the high def output for xbox gaming. So I connected the console through a component-to-vga converter to the tv, set the source as PC and turned it all on. But all I got was a black screen with a "not supported mode" on it. With my old lcd TV, it all worked fine. I know I can use the component output directly, but I'd like to try VGA because they say it has less jaggies. So anybody has an answer to this? I know of a service menu that can tweak the tv, is it worth it?

Hook the VGA up to a PC Monitor and change the resolution then try it again on the TV.

The Resolution currently set for the VGA may be higher than your TV can support.

I already did that, from an xbox point of view, there are only three resolutions, 480p, 720p, 1080i, I tried to disable the last two, but to no avail. What about this component to vga converter, with my prevous lcd tv, it worked well
