attaching two drives to xbox

Can you install two drives onto an xbox either so one is used for booting and the second for extra storage.

Or use both drives to boot but selecting which one to use, i.e. using one drive at a time but being able to switch which one is active on turning on the xbox?

I read something about an Xtender Case in another thread, what is it and is this what i need and the only way?

If possible the second scenario would be most appealing to me.

Re: attaching two drives to xbox

Is it easy to install?

I read somewhere that you need to solder a few wires to points on the board, and the pictures they give a bit blurry?

Are these points on the board small and tricky to do?

Re: attaching two drives to xbox

Thanks I've bit the bullet and ordered one. From the linked shop above

Can you tell using the softmod or any other application the version type of xbox I have? its not that important as I am going to to have to get stuck in anyway and ill find out then.

It would just be nice to know before hand what version I have so I can get an idea in my head on what needs to be soldered.

So far the furtherest I have delved into my xbox is removing the hard drive caddy to attach a new drive.

btw the x-tender mod look like a nice piece of kit
