Connecting an external HD to an XBOX

Has anyone tried this, i have an external Western Digital My Book HD which i want to try and connect to the XBOX, has anyone tried this ? Ive found a XBOX Controller to USB lead which should enable connectivity, would there be an issue with drivers etc or should all external Hard Disks work ?

thanks

I don't think any work... The drive would have to be formatted as FATX for one thing - how would you do that?

Re: Connecting an external HD to an XBOX

FATX is the file system used by an XBox...

Re: Connecting an external HD to an XBOX

Only way it will work is if you have installed linux on your XB.

If you want access to the drive just set it up as a network share when it's plugged into PC XB will then see it.

Re: Connecting an external HD to an XBOX

But you can't load games and homebrew on it...only useful for streaming media using XBMC really. Best to fit a new bigger HDD in the XBox itself or you could get an Xtender case and fit a couple!
