PSP as remote for XBMC

I am looking to use a PSP as a remote control for XBMC but the methods I have seen rely on using homebrew software.

I don't want to use this route as although I have a v1.5 PSP, this firmware version does not support WPA wifi access, therefore it aint going to get connected to my network.

I have also tried the built in browser within XBMC but this does not handle the PSP display format very well at all - it also isn't functionally well supported either as certain actions just don't work at all when operated from the PSP.

Has anyone come across another method, or found patches to make the built in web server more PSP-friendly?

(Running XBMC 2.01 and have PSPs with f/w 1.5, 2.6 and 2.7 respectively)

Cheers, Paul
