Recovering an old Gamertag?

Hello all, I am currently at the point where I hate my current Xbox live gamertag (Jiggerjay87) and wish to revert to the one I used for the first gen xbox stuff.

Now I can't recover the account on the 360 as I have no idea of the last 4 digits of the card I was using at the time (I don't even know if it was even registered on my electron, or if it went on my dads and I just topped it up with month cards)

The tag I want to change my current one to is Jigger Jay

The only logical route of doing this I think is, give microsoft a call and say I want them to delete the old Jigger Jay account, and then pay the 800 points to change my current name to Jigger Jay.

I can't seem to think of any other solution to this, anyone got anythoughts?
