Unhappy Can't stay connected to xbox live

When I start it up, it will connect to Xbox live as I turn it on, I will start playing it, and during the middle of a game, ill lose connection, my game will shut down, and it will sign me out of xbox live. I thought it was the cord, so I bought a new one, I thought it fixed it, but about an hour later it happened again. Its still doing it. All i have to do to reconnect to xbox live is unplug the Ethernet cable, plug it right back in, and it logs me back in, but only for a short period of time.. Im running my xbox directly to my modem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Can't stay connected to xbox live

What modem you using? and have you done the 'Live' check in the network settings? on 360.

I had a similar problem the other day and it was because I didn't have uPNP enabled in the modem, (NAT on 'Strict') never been a problem for over a year until the other day? and considering my modem was at least 4 yrs old (it doesn't have uPNP option, lol) it worked fine on Live before.

Swapped it out for an ex-Sky Netgear and all good now.
