x box media centre

x box media centre

i have just been given an xbox[original with 160gb hd]it has emulators for snes, megadrive etc pre installed, it has the media centre also...the only problem is firstly how do i connect the xbox to my wireless network?my xbox is next to a pc that is using a dongle to pick up a signal from the 2nd computer that has the router/modem etc connected..ive been pulling my hair out with this..next i have the items to go with the emulators but when i enter the dvd the home screen on the xbox reads unknown disc..what am i doing wrong.

AFAIK , you need to connect the xbox to the router , via ethernet cable

as for the emulators , you need to connet to xbox thru the router with an FTP program , i use filezilla .

The xbox is very particular about the type of media (DVD) most will read CDRW's

you can connect the xbox to the PC with a network crossover cable, manually set the IP address to be within your network scheme and then use an FTP application (FlashFXP) to move files to and from the xbox

you may need to setup internet connection sharing on your PC for the xbox to see across the wireless network through the PC
