Help With Softmodding Xbox

My old chipped xbox died so managed to get another and then bought softmod kit from someone on the forums..
they did not send action replay prog.to transfer save files or include the files on memory card but managed to get prog.but this keeps crashing when trying to copy over splinter cell files...
so tried ftp but you I believe you need evo x installed to ftp files to xbox

so can someone either lend me a memory card with files on or copy the files to my memory card and send back to me..please...

I will pay for postage both ways etc...

Have you tried the Action Replay utility that comes with Xbox-HQ PC Essentials? I don't know if the below link is the latest/last version that was compiled:

I think I had similar problems to you but I think I ended up trying to download new Splinter Cell files instead. I also unistalled/installed the Action Replay progam a few times.

As for FTPing, I've used unleashx, at a guess XMBC would probably be fine aswell.

Still no luck..prog crashes halfway through putting save on memory card same as last one...

hopefully Chett's suggestion will work. as i said prevoiusly, using the action replay software worked at first but then became trial and error for me.

have you tried putting any other saves on the card? e.g. the ones included with the action replay software. maybe the program crashes but the splinter cell files are transferred ok. the softmod file is quite large compared to usual xbox saves, so does take a bit of time to move across.

Managed to get saves across with xplorer 360 so thats one problem solved......now more problems...

loaded splinter cell...loaded linux profile and then machine goes to screen which says 21 in top left hand corner and says "your xbox requires service please call customer support...tried a few different splinter cell saves from different sources and does same with all...

I switch off and on and xbox is fine

anyone got any ideas...

When you run the splinter cell game and load the SID exploit are you using the first option `Backup/restore features` ?
You need to click that then create a `MS Backup` before trying to install the softmod.

Edit : Are you clicking on `Levels` or `Checkpoints` - Checkpoints is the one you want.

Loading Splinter Cell...then loading linux profile and then selected checkpoints....

Next screen goes black and then error screen comes up....

not getting choice to backup or anything else....

checked out version of xbox and its a v1.0

Just checking though hundred of posts on different sites and it might be the case the memory card is corrupting save files...will have to try and get another.....

I think it may be caused by having a previous Splinter Cell game save still installed on your hard drive, have a check, if theres one there delete it and then try transferring the exploit files.

Just tried that..deleted all saves from hard drive and exactly the same results..maybe I should try getting another game to do exploit...

No its original version.....bought the whole softmod kit of someone on the forums...ordered 007 AUF to see if I can get that working....
