Connection HELP!!!

Technika 19" LCD TV with built-in Freeview, DVD player & iPod dock LCD19-408
HELP PLEASE!!!

Have bought the above TV for the kids bedroom, mainly to watch the odd DVD and plug in an Xbox.

Problem is that I have the cable from the games console going to the TV with the usual set of three (Red, Yellow, White) component cables, however the TV has all sorts of wonderful connections but not these three.
I have tried different configurations but have managed to get a picture but no sound.

Any help would make me a good Dad again.

Many Thanks.

Tim

Re: Connection HELP!!!

Hello,
Does your TV have scart ?
check eBay, buy a RCA to Scart adapter for a couple of quid ... those 3 connectors plug into it, then you plug it into the scart on the TV

Re: Connection HELP!!!

The questions I have to ask is a). why have both a XBox and DVD player attached when the XBox plays DVDs very well using a simple dongle/handset? and b). why are you using Composite cable connections, whether by SCART or RCA sockets anyway?

You can get the XBox DVD adapter from eBay or maybe even somebody here and pick up a XBox RGB SCART or Component cable (if applicable) at the same time. Costs are relative peanuts (typically under a tenner for each) and your kids will love Daddy that little bit more when they see how tech savvy he is and the noticeable (depending on the TV of course) picture quality improvement he's magically produced.

Re: Connection HELP!!!

I imagine it would void his warranty if he tried to remove the DVD portion of his TV.

Re: Connection HELP!!!

Oh, it's a built in DVD player, sorry I didn't realise that. How is such a feature connected internally, I've always wondered? Surely it would via RGB, Component or even HDMI connections, which actually underscores my question about why the XBox is being connected by an inferior method.
