Most up to date original Xbox firmware

Hi, a friend has 2 (original mach 1) xboxes. His kids can play Halo head to head (2 tv's and link up lead etc) But other games (that are link up ready) do not work. I suggested to him that the software on one of the xboxes might be an older firmware, which is possible as one hasn't been online.
Does anyone know where I can get the original updated firmware for the Mach 1 Xbox??. I have googled it with no luck.

I think the latest dashboard is version 5960.

Any Xbox live enabled disc can be used to update the dashboard to the latest version

Thanks for the reply. Trouble is when he puts 2 games in each console the link doesn't work (ie it wont see the other Xbox). He has been told that poss as one hasn't been online it has older firmware. Are you saying simply putting in a Xbox game disc should update his firmware?

you don't need to go online to update the dash the update is on the disc

insert the Xbox live disc, select xbox live from the game menu and if it needs to update the dash it will say so - thats it
