1.6 Xbox and a CMOS Battery???

Hi Guys, I have carried out a soft-mod on a 1.6 Xbox and currently going through the process of trying to install a bigger HDD (which is proving a nightmare with Vista). But if I go a few days without powering up and then turn it on I get the original MS dashboard asking me to set the time (as if the Xbox is new)......I was wondering if there is a CMOS Battery on the MB that I need to change?, I have had similar on an old OLD PC in the past, so wondering if it 's the same thing here or something new?.

Any help offered will be appreciated.

Cheers,

Rich

Hello, Theres no `cmos` battery type set-up on the xbox, it uses an `Aerogel` capacitor to keep the time and date settings, if you unplug the thing for more than about 5 hrs it loses its charge and you need to keep setting the time.

Hi, Theres no fix ..... Its just the way xboxes are, every xbox from v1.0 to v1.6 will need the time and date setting if its unplugged for more than 5ish hrs .
