Apologies for the spanner of a question but I've just joined a lobby on live. It shows the list of players in the game and I can select my car etc but it doesn't show a microphone icon next to my gamertag so I can't hear or speak to the other players.

Is there anything I have to do

Probably just a case of hitting the middle button on your pad to bring up the dashboard, select 'chat' and you should see a list of channels. Select the
channel for the current game you're playing. Usually does it for me

The game is Flatout ultimate Carnage.

It was my privacy settings that were the problem. I went into those and changed the voice chat from friends only to everyone and now it works (doesn't stop me feeling like a knob for wasting an hour last night trying to sort it out).
