Have Epic ruined GoW?

Hi all,

The recent GoW update increased the power of the Lancer (chainsaw gun). I would be the first to admit it was inconsistently powered against the other weapons and needed a bit more oomph - maybe 10% or so. But the recent update seems to have made the Lancer twice as powerful as it was - it's way too much now.

Has this ruined any one else's games?

Just when you get used to playing a certain way they go and change the goalposts !!!

One thing I like about GoW multiplayer is that choosing a weapon is a bit like 'rocks-scissors-paper' - each weapon has it's good and bad points. ie. sniper rifle kills outright with a headshot but leaves you vulnerable when targeting. Lancer was underpowered, but hell the chainsaw is awesome ;o) etc...

The rules have changed - am I whinging or has anyone else noticed the that getting 'Lancered' in the face is spoiling games.

Regards

Simon

PS. I still love GoW though!!! :o)

the thing is, yes the lancer is more powerfull now but it cant shoot through stone or metal so hide behind walls or vehicles etc until he reloads and shoot him with what weapon u want and keep doing it, plus when he aims with the lancer keep moving away and he cant shoot u, but dont move away from him in a straight line move left or right because if u just run away in a straight line he'll down u easy.
the other way is to get some frags and wait until hes reloading and throw them in to stun him and then either shoot him or tag him or throw the other grenade in to kill him once stunned.
remember to stay hidden, move about, and practice the back, and side-flips too this will help u.

Re: Have Epic ruined GoW?

I probably think it's a shade too powerful since the update, no game killer though so I can't say I'm bothered. At least they fixed the roadie run sticking pretty well so a good update IMO.

These are probably the things I do most in multiplayer GoW, it's all about minimising my time spent in the dead room

Re: Have Epic ruined GoW?

I think the latest update has improved the game - made it much more balanced - now requires more teamwork to grab power weapons - makes the shotgun less dominant...

The previous boomshot update ruined the game slightly

Re: Have Epic ruined GoW?

I don't think it made too much of a difference. If you ran out against opposition poppin' clips from that mofoing lancer befo' you'd still get shot upside ya head-if you know what I'm sayin. It just happens quicker now

Re: Have Epic ruined GoW?

For me the major difference is that the boomshot takes more skill than just firing it 10 ft behind someone to get them down, personally I love the lancer so im happy there

Could of fixed the subway glitch though

Re: Have Epic ruined GoW?

i didnt like it at first, but i think the update has greatly improved things. For a start the roadie run is fixed and makes it much less frustrating. and although the lancer can be uber powerful, as kop says if i was dropping a weapon it would still be the lancer. shottie is still the best weapon in the game.

witht he lancer more powerful it is also much more important to get tactical, and you are rewarded now more for good positional teamwork, flanking before you could unload a clip into an opponent and they could hobble away, now you burst fire at range and put them down.

defo an improvement

only thing i dont like is my roadie shotgun kills are much harder to pull off

Re: Have Epic ruined GoW?

You can chainsaw/kerbstomp your own team mates now!!!!!! Only 1 person in a game can do it though.

Re: Have Epic ruined GoW?

I think it's balanced things out well, makes those that just charge in with little skill - but plenty bravado - with the shotgun round after round think twice about doing so.

I have to say I haven't seen much of a difference in the roadie run and sticking, that might be due to the accuracy of my running though!

Re: Have Epic ruined GoW?

I personally think the lancer needed strengthening as this game is mainly about shotties. However, i doubt it will change things.
