Hi all,
Just a quickie, i have registered on live and got the free 1 month gold membership (just had my ass kicked on GOW a few times).

My question is: i want to get my son a gamertag and on live gold aswell, can i somehow add him to my membership or do i just make a new profile up for him and go through the same set up as i have just done?

Just create another profile for him....BUT if he wants to go on LIVE then you must pay again for his account....even if both profiles are on the same machine, disgraceful huh

Well i have started to register and it says he will also get a 1 month free gold membership,cool.

You always get a free 1 months trial on live when you set up a new account.

Think MS wanna make sure you know what you are missing.

I spent around 3 months changing my gamertag to get another month for free, but then you kinda get addicted to the points system.

Plus on games like Rainbow 6 Vegas the longer you play you the game on line enables you to rise thru the ranks and then more weapons become available to your character.

Just to add, I've had my 360 since Febuary, have got my 12 month Live membership but haven't used it much yet. I downloaded the Shadowrun demo last night, not a bad game but I could only play it online which is fine, however, I found that listening to a bunch of American's trying to blur our the English language sounding like they were all drunk or on drugs at the same time a bit, off putting.
Plus on 1 server I was just shot from the off by the team I was on cause I chose not speak in their foreign English language, and the others seemed to mostly consists of F*** this and that.

Please tell me Live is really worth it and their are some people with mental ages above 2 and that choose to use words other then obscanity's spoken in a way I find hard to understand?

I know EXACTLY where you're coming from Apolloa! I've been 'Live' noe for about 3 months, and I'm loving it, really hooked, but the annoying colonial inbreds can make for subtle enjoyment killing. The game I was playing in last night had a few young yanks, who constantly used the 'N' word, and told racist jokes. One then turned to someone who questioned their terminology and proclaimed "Oh its okay, I've got a friend whos a ni..." OH WELL THATS OKAY THEN!!!!!!

Dont forget, that for ever moron out there, ther are plenty of decent gamers who dont abuse, and arent awkward, who just want to play games. I usually turn my mic off if I come up against these people, but they are everywhere it seems. Best bet is to join a group, or play with a group of mates who wont tolerate that sort of thing (lots of people on here who would be happy to have a friends request) and then host some online matches! That way, if your sick of the people in your room, you can boot them, and report em to MS if what they are saying is bad enough. I usually tend to take everything with a pinch of salt and ignore it, but if it gets too bad, I might throw in my 2 cents before leaving the room, giving them a few choice words to ponder over!

At the end of the day, there are a lot of kiddies playing who dont know any better (I blame inbreeding) but the worst thing I find is that British kids are just as bad (sometimes worse) because they copy the Yanks! I cant find anything in this life that irritates me more than a British Spacker kid using the phrase 'pwned' (or 'pwnage' or any variation!) The yanks destroy our language enough without our lot having to keep up with them!

Thats' disgraceful, is there any way you can NOT listen to the people you're playing with/against?

I really want to try Xbox Live out, I'm not sure if I'll like it or not but I want to try it out but everytime I try to sign up and use my free month gold membership a message comes up with 'this is currently unavailible at this time try again later' which is annoying, every time I've had the 360 for a week and a half and haven't been on live once, the connections are fine so why am I being locked out?

Hmm, dunno about the being locked out thing mate, unless theres a problem with your modem/connection etc. I'm not aware of the error messages for the 360. Check the FAQ or ask Munkey Boy, he's very knowledgable and always responds to any IM's I send him to his credit

With regards to the idiots. You can unplug your mic so you don have to listen to them, or turn the volume on the headset way down, but sometimes you need to hear in games so that you know where to go/what to do etc! Plus, there may be a way of turning it off (i think there is) but if you unplug the mic, you can still HEAR people through the TV, just cant respond to them! But, as I say, this you should be able to change!

Its a terrible by-product of something that opens itself up to a whole diverse community of people, that is bound to have its certain set backs and flaws. 've yet to meet anyone who is clearly a paedophile, but dont be surprised if this happens as well. I'm sure they're careful and IM other users instead of game room chatting, but i'm sure it goes on.

Just because people cant see you and dont know where you live, they feel braver and more able to say/do things that might offend or annoy. Its the way it goes. I just avoid these people for future games!

Well i have to say i'm pretty much hooked at the moment to GOW, but i am so bad . I have played about 20 games and made around 4 kills And been killed hundreds of times, now i know how some of these people hit the 10,000+ kills they just look for me
I have to say i have been suprised by the language of some of the players. Once or twice i have just quit the game because i could'nt stand all the sillyness.

I plug the headset in then turn the voulume down on the plug.

I also log complaints against nasty people, making them less likely to meet me in an on line game.

And if they are talking ***** I just leave and go into anther game.

Regarding the two accounts on one console, is it possible for both accounts to play a co-op game over Live at the same time?
