Strict NAT every few days.

Ok most of the time my LIVE connection on the 360 runs perfectly. I never lag and get decent speeds for demos etc. But for the last couple of months every few days I struggle connecting to people in lobbies. Sure enough when I check my connection on the 360 it shows a strict NAT.

If I reboot my router (BT Homehub) immediately the NAT is open again and all is fine for a few days until it happens again.

Anyone got any ideas?

Re: Strict NAT every few days.

try setting up your connection manully using a static ip address and user specified gateway and dns.

Then set up port forwarding manually too.

www.xboxlivetheguide.com will help.

This happens to me too. I followed all the instructions on the link provided in the post above and it still happens. I think it's just a case of having to reboot the router now and again to keep things running smoothly

Yeah, more a case of the homehub being a peice of ****!

I might just try a new router sometime as I only paid £15 for this homehub, so I guess you get what you pay for.

Re: Strict NAT every few days.

OMFG... I thought it was only me that had this problem and that I was going nuts. I have exactly the same issue. Every now and then my NAT settings turn to STRICT. Today I deactivated UPNP and then reactivated it again and voila it went to OPEN again. Im sure this is just a firmware thing but who on earth do you get in touch with to get something like that actually taken seriously to fix?
I havent spoken to BT yet as I hold off on calling call centres for as long as possible, as they are usually useless.
Well im gonna see how it goes. If it just takes what I did today then its not the end of the world but it is definitely a firmware problem!!
BTW my PS3 and Wii work perfectly with no problems at all.
