Forza 2 - Lobby splits in two whilst in race

Whilst playing last night on two occasions whilst in a race with friends they suddenly left the lobby. I caried on - on my own and finished the race. When I contacted them afterwards they said that they saw that I had left the lobby and that their race was going as well.

It would appear that for some reason the lobby separartes into two and that both lobbies work fine apart from the fact that your mates are in a different part of the ether. Each person gets bonuses and awards that they should, yet when you end its as if your friends were never there.

WEIRD BUT TRUE

Anyone else had the same problem or is it just me -Chewbacca can verify as he as with me.

Re: Forza 2 - Lobby splits in two whilst in race

I get the same thing on Forza2! (and also sometimes on Halo2!)

Its like your connection temporarily drops?
You end up in the game playing on your own but your are still connected to xbox live! Totally random and sometimes doesnt happen for a few days!
Starting to really annoy me now!
Anyone got any ideas?
I'm using a Netgear DG834 with the netgear wireless bridge.
Got good connection settings (router and bridge are 6ft apart)
have 6.5mb d/l and 448kb u/l speeds.
Still get it when i connected directly to the router!

Arrgh!

If you get disconnected at any point, your game thinks everyone else has disconnected and puts you back in your own lobby.

Forza is unique in that if the host drops out, someone else takes over hosting.. just means it can get confusing if someone gets disconnected .

What we are both asking is why are WE getting disconnected?

Everyone else in the room carries on in the game as normal and for them it looks like YOU have disconnected!

I believe the original poster (Dave911) was querying the multiple lobbies, rather than asking why he was being disconnected .

Re: Forza 2 - Lobby splits in two whilst in race

If you read his post (and mine) you will realise that this is a problem that appears to be as a result of a temporary disconnection? Which means being left in the lobby on your own.
The game thinks everyone has disconnected whilst for everyone else in the original game lobby it looks like i've disconnected. Hence being in a lobby on my own and my friends being in the original lobby that i was in with them.
=2 different lobbies, same game session.
I also get this disconnection prob with halo2

Try pulling your lan cable out in the middle of a multiplayer game.

Re: Forza 2 - Lobby splits in two whilst in race

You've attempted to say what I said with my original post, well done. I suggest you re-read the original post and stop trying to fit it to your disconnection issue, whilst Dave911 is the only one who can answer as to his original meaning, it certainly is not querying why he has been disconnected - only why/how he has ended up in his own lobby.

Your disconnections could be the result of any number of things, and it's unlikely to be related to Forza in particular (as you say, you have it with Halo 2 also).

Check your internet connection, any PCs you have running, stop any downloads, check the wireless signal, cables, weather, etc etc.

There's no need to be rude just because a reply does not answer _YOUR_ question, and your attitude seems entirely uncalled for.

Re: Forza 2 - Lobby splits in two whilst in race

Hi guys
Spinke is correct, I was not asking why my connection had dropped, however I did not know what the problem was, but now that he mentions what it COULD be then it does make an awful lot of sense.
Like you Chillo I have a DG934 wireless router however no bridge and although the signal is not the best it does not normally cause me any problems.
I have rebooted mine and not had any problems since but in fairness have not been on the game a massive amount. A mate of mine has told me that it has been happening in a few lobbies that he has been in, although not to him, but to others - he too has a 934.
It is annoying, but it sounds like it may be a hardware isuue rather than a software one and only because Forza's lobby is set up the way it is do you get this effect.
Now guys please don't fall out on my behalf - kiss and make up - promise

Wow! Spinkey dude wind yer neck in and chill!!
Unfortunately you can not infer emotion or tone from text only, so you have misinterpreted my post a little!

I thought it was hardware related but why am i only getting dropped connections with halo2+Forza2 and no other games? Checked all connections including connecting to router directly etc.
