Wireless adaptor has become fussy

Booted up tonight and it didn't auto sign in, then it refused to manually sing in as well.

It failed the connection test so I switched off, unplugged, plugged back in and turned on. I managed to get a game of Pro evo started but it lagged ridiculously until it eventually dropped its connection altogether.

I switched off and on again and it has basically started getting a connection initially but going offline again within a minute or so.

I'm pooing myself that it has copped it for no reason but I don't know what to do to sort it. Any ideas?

Re: Wireless adaptor has become fussy

[FONT="Microsoft Sans Serif"]The wireless adaptor is weird, i had the problem of the 360 not knowing it was plugged in from a cold start, only after unplugging it and replugging it in would it work. Then also, it wouldn't work if it was connected to the rear usb, but worked fine from either of the two at the front. Odd thing is is that now it works fine from the rear usb port and i did nothing to change it. So i'm not sure if it was the 360 or the adaptor.

Might be worth pluggin it into one of the front usb ports to see how it behaves?

Re: Wireless adaptor has become fussy

Is it far from the Wireless router?

Noticed any issues with wireless reception on other devices in the same room?

I would check on your PC if there are any other wireless networks on the same channel as you. Hopefully your WLAN driver will tell you the channel networks are on, otherwise you might need to download a third party app.

Sounds very much like reception issue caused by someone else setting up wifi with the same channel setting.

Its an issue since the update, don't worry about it, manually sign in or start your game and it will sign in

I got dissconected yesterday afternoon and couldn't sign in to live for about ten mins...don't know why?

I also had problems last night signing in to x-box live aswell then couldn't play COD3 as it kept saying no game sessions avalibly couple of other games were ok so i waited for about 20 mins or so and it was ok....

i found this happened a lot too but worked fine in the front 2 ports.
i had a theory which was that the heat coming out the back somehow may have caused the adaptor to disconnect for some reason as the adaptor was really hot after a while, not sure if my theorys correct or not but i dont have any other answer for it.

But not strictly correct as most of the Man Utd fans live in London...

Anyway - wireless adaptors. Do you have to use the official MS adaptor or will any old USB dongle do...?
I kind of begrudge paying £60 for it when other consoles on the market have wireless buolt in...
