Is Live subscription tied to console or tag?

Hi all,
A quick question, I have 2 360's (1 was fee with a phone!) in the house, one is on live at present the other is not. If I move my hard drive from the live one to the new unit will I still be able to use my live subscription, saves, achievements, arcade games etc etc or are these all locked to the original console?

Thanks

I think all but the saves are easily transferrable. For the saves, you'll need to get a memory card I think, or maybe there's a way to cheat around that.

as long as you are still conected to live everything should still work, i use 2 hard drives on the one downstairs and its all fine, if you lost the connection to the internet you would only be able to use the arcade games on the box you downloaded the arcade games on though

So basically if I use my hard drive on the new system all my achievements, live subscription etc etc will carry on with no probs at all if I use the same profile?

Re: Is Live subscription tied to console or tag?

As every download is tied to the machine you download it to. The only way to play any of your games is when your online. Offline games can only be played on the orginal so that means if your machine goes back for repair or you have another the only way to play your games is online only.

You could store your gamertag on a memory card and just move it from one to another that way anything you unlock will always update the memory card and live at the same time and when you play on the other box you can play from the same place you left off.!

So thats move gamer tag to memory card and also game saves to memory card that way you can play on any other 360 and play your saved games and use your gold membership.!!

Re: Is Live subscription tied to console or tag?

How does that work with additional content say on Oblivion? All of that is in the hard drive. I would use my profile on the Mem card and attached the hard drive to access the additional content too?
